Far from your place??
Not really mate. They put one a couple of miles away a few years ago.
It's gun central around here.
Far from your place??
Mate the only thing they were interested in doing was getting rid of me, I felt like I was in an episode of One Foot In The Grave....and I was Victor :)If you paid on card they should be able to pull up transaction of ref no
In Australia mate :)Didn't know they had Aldi in the USA.
I think they have made a business error and the guy who said whatever needs his balls parting. You say they have lost a customer who spends £6,000a year, but you and I now that the same groceries would probably have cost you £2,000 more elsewhere. The question you have to ask yourself is do I want to lose £1,975 to make a point? What I would do is take your custom to another Aldi, as managers bonus is heavily affected by turnover. Try to get your pals to do the same and go in and tell the same **** that. If you go he is £6,000 down and believe me that will cost the prick more than £25 in lost bonus. Cutting your nose off to spite your face is not the answer. hitting that prick where it hurts is far better. As I said, if you can convince other people to change stores that will be even sweeter. Oh, remember now to keep all your receipts or card transactions.
It's not like there's Aldi on every corner here in Blighty, fuck knows how far he'd have to travel in Oz, probably use a tank of fuel.
As for persuading friends and family to boycott them, not a fucking chance in reality, unless maybe they hire a coach and make a weekend of it.
Other than the "Whatever" I genuinely don't see any problem with the way that you were treated. If they were to give out refunds to everybody with no proof of purchase they would have a queue of smackheads stretching around the block to return their stolen shit.
Maybe I'm just too much of an out of touch old fart, but I'd honestly expect to need a receipt/bank statement upon returning an item to any store. Hasn't it always been done that way?
Thats a fair enough point of view mate, I dont agree with you and I dont think the manager should say 'whatever' then turn his back on me and walk away, I honestly felt like a grub. Im old school and I believe in the principal that you treat everyone you meet with respect (unless they do something that means they dont deserve it) and I would have thought that part of the training that Supermarket managers undertake is how to speak to customers.............But its all good, I followed it up as a matter of principle, not for the $25 though, I just dont like being insulted. But I take on board your views.Don't really think you should be getting much sympathy to be honest. You don't have a receipt so they're within their rights to say no refund. Old mate should have probably said it more tactfully but that doesn't detract from the point that you were technically in the wrong.
You complain about non-existent customer service, but that's the point of Aldi and part of their USP. You look at the number of staff they have per store versus Coles or Woolies, and you'll see how they can sell the products they do at the prices they do. A lack of customer service relative to those others stores is a result.
How much do you also value your time? You've had another trip to the store, probably wasted about 30 minutes of your time. Emailed head office, and had a call, which is probably another 15 minutes wasted time, and now posting on here and ringing up your mates to try and boycott. It's honestly not worth it for $25 especially as you lost the receipt and are technically in the wrong.

It’s great. Used to be a right supermarket snob until my ex showed me the delights also has. Great place, best quality of food out there too.
Never heard of it. Is it one of them places that will cash your paycheck as well?
Sounds like the Giant Tiger we have here.
What happened to CO-OP?
Growing rapidly.
It goes against the grain a bit here, because we are a “more is better” country, but what they do well is very good! I always liked their breakfast cereal, and was a storming deal compared to Kelloggs and such.
