The way pep is praising kolarov . FFS . Fair play to kolarov though. He is adapting well

Guardiola: "And of course Kolarov, he was today one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in a central defender."

Pep does appear to like Kola: he played an awful lot of minutes in preseason.

I thought he gave a huge performance yesterday and shaded Dinho and Sterling in MotM stakes. I considered it the most intelligent performance that I have seen Kolarov give. The question now is can be do it consistently and against better opposition. Be hilarious if he managed to become the main guy to partner Stones in Vinnie's absence.

And I swear to Aguero that if AK plays a decent number of games at CB, he will at some point break out from the back and score goal of the season :-)

I truly despair at people slagging kola off - if that was his debut and he had cost 50 million we would be saying he looks world class.

I think we need to get used to the idea that everything happening with the defence now isn't just happening due to Vinnies absence. He might end up being the main guy to partner Stones period!

One break from the back was Beckenbaueresq.....think for games like Stoke Ota the better option though.

That's the good thing though. We know against certain teams Kolarov can and will be a useful option. Giving players rest is all part of the game today and it looks like we're going to be ok in that regard.

He was brilliant yesterday. The thing with kolarov is trust, we've seen him in games where it looks like he doesn't give a fuck, that Southampton game last year was blood boiling, I would of been glad to see him leave the club that day. We've now got a manager who doesn't take any bollocks from the players, so we could see the best of kolarov.

Probably wasn't the last time we'll see him as CB.
As shocking as it sounds even to me. We might be looking at our long term Starting LCB. Even when everyone is healthy. He has a legitimate chance of winning the job.

You've hit the nail on the head there. Been saying that myself.

People see what they want to see. I'm no fan of Kolarov but he was absolutely immense yesterday.

The question is can he sustain it.

It wouldn't be the first time Pep has found a new position for a player and it prove to be a revelation.

Admittedly I thought Kolarov was beyond help. Maybe not.

Wanted to him out as he has been well below part for a few seasons but if he can continue with performances like he put in yesterday I'm happy for him to stay on.
