Plays the game at his own pedestrian pace no matter what. That fit touch where he gave it to Leicester and they nearly scored was beyond diabolical. Cannot believe he started instead of clichy

Hung out to dry by his manager. His job when playing, especially at home is to play as an almost auxiliary winger, that obviously is going to leave him exposed defensively, even more so against a pacy in form winger, when he does get the ball who exactly is he supposed to pick out? There's never anybody in the box, he often deliberately aims for the first man in order to get a corner as it's preferable to hitting it into an empty box. You could see his frustration in the first half when he was gesturing for people to get in the box for him to try and pick out. He'll be vital for us when Pep comes in.
You saw it similar to me.

Have always thought he was a terrible footballer. It boggles my mind coaches think he's good enough.

Glad i'm not the only one mate. He was one of the few that at least put the effort in today. much like Silva at the minute with a lack of movement infront of him, they're both doing their job, the problem lies elsewhere. He got down the line tirelessly but time and time again had nobody to aim for and was left isolated.

I'd love to hear from the moaners who exactly he was supposed to cross it to.

Oh please, he'll be nowhere near the team when Pep arrives. Once he sees his desire to track back Pep doesn't tolerate jogging back leaving your centre backs exposed, also he seems to negate any space for the winger. It was shocking to see how many times he got into great positions and made the wrong choice, sure you have a point about lack of bodies in the box but believe me Pep's teams play a similar way and the full backs he uses always seem to make better decisions rather than try and hammer it across - usually hitting the first marker - twice in the first half he had Sterling on his outside (free) and chose to blast the ball 30 feet above the bar. Kolarov will be gone in the summer, so let's have a look at Angelino please.

You'd think that finding a fullback would be one of the easiest jobs a manager could ever have, but other than the immaculate Glyn Pardoe and, to lesser extents Andy Hinchcliffe and Willie Donnachie (all club produced), we've generally struggled to find players of the quality required. I can only hope that Pep has LB as a priority area plan. It is interesting (if not laughable) to have read of Kolarov's plans to defer his hoped for move back to Serie A because of Pep coming here.

He was woeful, but in fairness he looked livid with the lack of options in the box.
He needs to get it in the box first to complain about it. Not many of our players tend to hang off the shin of the first defender to be fair

He's wank, always has been. Standard Kolarov performance today.

I saw it very similar. I do not think there is an argument that Clichy is better defensively but Kolorov gives us a lot more going forward. His crosses were not the best but unlike a few of our players he did not hide, kept getting into positions and taking responsibility. We had some players out there who went missing and it appears if you do nothing it is deemed preferable to the guy who continues to try and make something happen.

But yes defensively he was poor. Players like Okazaki, Vardy were continually playing on the shoulder of the centre halfs. We needed the pace of Sagna, Clichy to cover those spaces. I honestly think tactically Pellers thought we could outnumber them in midfield by pushing the fullbacks on as they play 2 upfront . It did not work.

Kolarov always has been a poor standard player for us. He plays like he doesn't give a shit - rank shooting into row z when a pass or cross is the better option. I think he knows he'll be gone in the summer whichever manager he has.

He will occasionally score a half decent effort that seems to buy him more time. Game to game though he's just not consistent enough. His best performance that I've seen from him in a donkeys age was against Chelsea at home this season. Against any team with a bit of pace he is usually fucked. I certainly won't miss him when we do finally get rid.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see with regards to next season. I think Pep will use him correctly and he'll be a big asset. I'd be interested to see the figures as i reckon he would be near the top of the distance covered table today, was always available on the outside whenever we had the ball. Whilst i would agree he does sometimes negate space for a winger, it's not Kolarov's fault. It's very clear the manager wants him to do that, he's simply doing what's asked of him. What was the right choice? I get a great view of the left flank first half from the south stand, not once did i think he choose the wrong option. mainly because he rarely had an option, never mind 2. I had no problem with him shooting when he did, most of the crowd near me were shouting at him to shout before he did, there was no other options on and we hadn't even had a shot on target before he decided to take that shot. it was a woeful effort admittedly but the alternative was to simply go backwards.

I think you're spot on there, particularly with the last bit. Kolarov stands up and takes responsibility, a reason why i have zero problems with him being given the captains armband. Clichy gets far less stick when he decides to stay on the halfway line and offer nothing whatsoever.

I said pre-match not playing Clichy was suicidal and that's no dig at Kolarov. From Kolarov's point of view, he's being asked to play almost as a winger, get right up and support every attack, he can't do that and then be expected to be back covering MDM's lack of pace and keeping a tight knit on Mahrez. That's all pellegrini's fault. The manager obviously fault playing Delph out of position was the answer to that. You can only judge Kolarov today offensively,

I'm sure more of us will come out of the woodwork once the heat dies down. Far from our worst player today.
