Alen Halilovic - remember this name

Not sure if true or the rag media getting behind their beloved pre-derby, but the Mail says David Gill has flown over to try and do a deal for Halilovic. The last paragraph though makes me wonder if it's all fiction to try and cheerlead their beloved rags going into the derby:

Gill’s transfer mission will do little for City manager Mancini’s mood in the build-up to Sunday’s eagerly awaited derby at the Etihad Stadium.

Mancini was left fuming at the way City missed out on the likes of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie in the summer and will demand answers if they are once more outmanoeuvred by their nearest, less noisy neighbours, who are also tracking Dinamo centre back Domagoj Vida.

WTF @ the bolded bit, do they even try to hide their agenda?

That's crap for sure.
Domagoj Vida WTF ? Alcoholic who couldn't make it in the Bundesliga...

This is what it says on the BBC site. Note the last line.

United Chief Executive David Gill flew to Croatia this week for talks about signing £15m-rated Alen Halilovic, 16, and he also enquired about 20-year-old right-back Sime Vrsaljko.

Never heard of the kid, anybody know if he's any good?

Can't see United paying that sort of cash for a 16 year old. They prefer to pay a small amount upfront and add incetive clauses later. Nothing wrong in that BTW but Halilovic is likely to attract a variety of suitors including some who will frontload the deal.

City reportedly were willing to pay around £9m and were knocked back which gives an indication of how much he will fetch.
