Quite a big finger you're pointing there, mate. Elaborate.
Mancini's record at City of giving youth it's head is shipping Nedum out on the basis that Boyata is better. Boyata then got himself sent off against Arsenal and was never seen again. Other than that - he's done fuck all for the young players coming through at our club. To be fair to him, it may well be that they're all just not good enough. My point is more in relation to the myth which is peddled by those obsessed with Hughes - which goes along the lines of: "Mancini brings through young players. Hughes would never had done that. He sent Hart out on loan, and Mancini recalled him" as if that one act makes him Arsene Wenger...
Why does everything always go back to Hughes?
Picking Hart over Given was a big call and using Boyata in some key games was similar. The fact that he took Boyata out of the firing line was sensible given that everyone was lobbing bricks at Boyata and the potential was there to do more harm than good if Mancini persisted with him. Its a judgement call and one that Mancini is paid to make.
Playing Mario in the FA Cup SF was also a big call since pretty much everyone thought it would be a disaster but it paid off. Other times it won't but it is fairly clear that if Mancini thinks the player is good enough he will play him irrespective of age.
You do need to start bringing some balance to this Mancini obsession. I can understand you loathe the guy and would like to see the back of him - I felt the same about Hughes - but endless bitching isn't the answer. Plus you have to remember that on the last three major issues - Frank, Hughes and Mancini you have been on the wrong side of the argument. Its time to call it a day and come in from the cold. Its time to kneel at the alter of the one true faith and accept the body of your saviour and lord.
All hail Roberto Mancini
