Alex Nimely

How did the other young players perform? Particularly interested to hear about the likes Mee, Tutte and even Kay.

Mee was very poor! He's too slow, too short, lacks positional awareness and easily ourjumped. He won't make it at the top level.
Tutte did everything you'd expect Makalele or de Jong to do. Sat in front of the back four, was very disciplined, didn't give the ball away, worked hard to win it back. But again he's very short, skinny and slow.
Kay was average.
Nimely was mostly very good, a bit naive but I think he looks like he'll become a player!
Cunningham always strikes me as a player who lacks direction, is very panicky and is too instanctive when he's on the ball. So he looks like a headless chicken with it at his feet. He is good at tackling and isn't slow like the others.

-- Mon Jul 26, 2010 2:02 pm --

I think Boyata is very good!

Out of interest where are Abdi Imbrahim and Javan Vidal?

I know Vidal was playing for the reserves vs Macc, Ibrahim is on the tour but hasn't played yet.

What's happened to Trippier? We're always hearing what a good prospect he is but he rarely seems to feature in these kinds of games. Is he still injured?

not much there to cheer them up when they get back - I think you are overly critical but you are right in the sense they probably won't get much of a look in at City. Plenty of opportunities elsewhere though for these U20 & full internationals. Boyata is the exception as you say - he may make it.

He played in the first half against Sporting, not bad at all. Replaced by Micah in the second half. I think Ibrahim played too.

You sure? I missed the game but the report on the OS listed the team as follows:

CITY: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott (Onuoha 46mins), Cunningham (Bridge 45); Ireland (Boyata 64), Vieira (Tchuimeni-Nimely 64), Zabaleta, A.Johnson, Jo (Tutte 74), Bellamy (Guidetti 74). Subs not used: Taylor.

Could be a mistake by the website though.

I think it was the first match against Portland that Trippier started.
