Still think we need a world class central midfielder though mate, personally that was the area that need improving the most this summer.

Bar Yaya our midfield is average for a top side if you ask me, Fernando is nowhere near good enough and whilst Fernandinho is a solid all round midfielder he does get overrated at times.

I agree mate....most of our problems last season started in midfield...

Well it is Porto and they seem to see us coming where money is concerned, maybe we've wised up a bit?
Not too often you see Porto get the run around, so would be shocked if they kept him and let his contract expire. Though guessing Sandro wouldn't mind if he was interested in coming to us (or England), nice sign on fee and assuming at least double the wages.

Good left back and even better left back if we sign him in 2016 on a free, unless Juve come in with a bid nothing should be in our way.

Genuine question.....as we've been linked to both, who would be a better fit for the team Sandro or Fabinho? thanks for any replies!

As others have said, LB for me is not the main priority for this year. We need more bodies in CM to allow us to challenge the big teams in Europe. In the home leg vs barca for example we played Milner and Fernando (i think). We need at least 5 to allow us to rotate and keep the 3 fresh (assuming pellers sticks with same formation as last year towards the end) and to also give us the option of pushing Yaya up against the better sides to avoid another game like against the scum.

thanks mcfcfc.....guess it might just come down to who City feel fills the biggest need....cheers!

yeah i don't know what to say there seems to be rumours about sagna at galatasaray so fabinho make sense if this happpens... about kolarov there were rumours at the beggining about milan or inter but since then nothing happened

Looks like Juve might be going after someone else...would make the way clear for us to sign Sandro?

Juve edge Roma for Baba

Juventus swoop in for Abdul Rahman Baba, currently targeted by their rivals Roma.

After signing Mario Mandzukic, who was also on the Giallorossi radar, it seems the Bianconeri could be out to acquire another potential asset for their competitors.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus have probed for Augsburg's Baba, who was reportedly close to Roma.

The Ghanaian full-back is believed to be the favoured alternative to Alex Sandro, who will not be given up by Porto for anything less than €20m.

So if we were to sign either Sandro or Baba, Fabinho, Pogba and De Bruyne and sell Kola, Sagna, Nasri and prob Dinho (as I've not seen Fernando linked to anyone) think we would of had a perfect summer!

According to FM 2008 (maybe) he was a big potential talent. Don't know much about him now....

This would be perfect, but tbh I can't see Nasri going anywhere, even if we get KDB. I'd sell Sagna and Kolorov too but links with fullbacks have gone very cold and so have the rumours of any departures other than Dzeko and Jov. Can only see those two and maybe one more being offloaded dependent on whether we sign KDB AND Pogba, or either of them at all.

Zabaleta can fill in at left back whenever required has played there for us before. Prefer Zaba at left back to both Clichy and Kolarov. Of course even better at RB tho.
