What makes people think we are in for him? Not seen any reliable reports bar some hopefulness to sign someone.

we need intensity in midfield this season too. something rodri and gundogan lack .

Mahrez and gundogan have been objectively good signings. Mahrez was sensational last season!

Mendy got injured 4 times, how are you gonna account for this?

To be fair how do we now he was a top player?

Yes he looked very good at Monaco but we will never know how good he was because of the injuries.

He looks clueless to me in terms of reading the game and sensing danger, is that because of injury or is he just not very good?

There was a passage of play just before half time yesterday that totally summed Mendy up; he went charging forward, cut inside ran into a cul de sac - gave the ball away cheaply and Leeds then exploited the gapping hole down our left. He’s a liability, he’s naive and he’s unsettling the whole defence. His poor contribution going forward doesn’t justify the havoc he’s creating in the defence. The way teams are targeting our left flank suggests we’d be better Playing Ake and telling him just to sit for a few games.

Exactly and that not all down to injuries.

I am not sure he is or was as good as we thought.
 
Get this Telles guy signed, even better if we snaffle him from under the noses of those wankers from Trafford.
 
Right now I’d have Richard Edghilll back rather than mendy. :-)

Yesterday our midfield was wide open / no control
rodri and KDB were knackered and Foden you only saw around their box.
I see a lot of flack going Mendy’s way, no striker, but the midfield three is just as big an issue.
We have a superb group of individuals, yes, but not yet a title challenging team....let’s see after the break

it looked a lot better when Bernardo came on. Once he’s fit he’d start in central midfield for me.

Foden looks a bit lost in that midfield, since start of new season it's looked a lot more like he's just filling in gaps as the manager sees fit.
