Not really a book reader but this is on my Christmas list too and really looking forward to reading it, my favourite City debut ever and one of my favourite City memories by far (even now).
Still remember the feeling in the lead up to the game and inside the ground, it was one of “oh shit, Joe’s not playing, this young lad’s going to have to come in, hope he doesn’t fuck up”, but there was this huge buzz, fearing the worst, yet there was an almost tangible sense of good will, hope and best wishes for Alex.
Said before, one of my proudest days of being a Blue was that day and seeing the support Alex got, and I often wondered whether Alex could feel that out on the pitch, hopefully it’s in the book.
