He has not turned up to the commons to answer the urgent question posed by angela , starmer has tweeted stop lying

The investigation is being carried out by a civil servant whose boss is , erm...

As Ruth Davidson pointed out on bbc , she can’t understand how this evidence has been out there for so long and not been reported on.
I think that that is down to the popular media and their brexit supporting owners.
They lobbied furiously for brexit - for various reasons, some financially obvious, and we now seem to be approaching a kind of tipping point with the failed project, with even the Telegraph,’ boris’s real boss‘ to quote himself probably the most pro-Tory, pro-brexit of them all, being critical of the so-called ‘benefits’ which appear to be further away than ever, if they ever existed.
There is no doubt that the powerful media barons and their friends in high places want their brexit dream to continue whatever the cost to us plebs, but now see the man who got the notion into voters’ heads and won an election on the back of it, as a weak liability.
They must draw attention away from the brexit disaster, and Johnson is a ready made target due to his total inability to do his job, or even just tell the truth. He can be safely discredited without damaging the brexit brand too much.
We must believe that brexit is still wonderful for everyone in ‘global britain’ but it’s just not being implemented properly by this leader.
So he has to go.
The real worry is what kind of extreme right wing, brexit loving, flag-shagger they replace him with.
It is telling that these revelations all appear via the conduit of ITV, not the "lefty, libtard, remoaner" BBC.

Johnson will be in post until the summer at the latest. His support amongst MPs, party members and core Conservative voters like me has collapsed for numerous reasons and he has lost the ‘winner’ tag.

Any new leader would want Covid to be more or less in the past so it gives them the chance to start with a clear run at getting their policies in place in plenty of time before the next election.

As it looks like a Sunak/Truss shootout I’d say Sunak would get the gig, just.

I get the impression they are now desperate for a police enquiry so that they can say they are not commenting because of the ongoing enquiry for longer than they are doing with the current internal civil service inquiry. The police inquiry will also be an excuse not to immediately publish the findings of the civil service inquiry.

They've no real excuses so they need an excuse not to comment for long enough for people to be distracted by the next thing.
I suppose it wasn’t too hard to predict the above.

So your preferred candidate is "just" ahead of this ...

*shakes head
