He’s a disaster politician though.

He’s not able to create strategy, just undermine peoples’ faith in the status quo. Hence Brexit happened, but with no clue as to how it could work.
Worse than that. Cummings said they'd have to "swerve" the difficult questions about how it would work.

Sure, but there must be a reason why. lots of people cant stand Johnson because he's a lying cheating twat. People cant stand the pisscan because he was a rag bullying twat.

so why dont you like Starmer?

He is a tory or far left labour and wants to be in endless pointless opposition? Coal not dole !

The flip side of that, with respect, is that if you have a party leader who everyone knows to be unelectable and you don’t replace them, then you can’t complain when you lose the election.

Referring to Tory voters as wankers is just deflection. If Labour had got it’s act together in 2017 or 2018 then we wouldn’t have Boris Johnson in power with a huge majority.

Id argue 2016 more than either of those. Everything that’s happened domestically since has been a direct result of Brexit, it was always going to end in Johnson or someone attached to vote leave in charge at some point as there is no alternative that anyone else could give that could placate their respective voter base for it. The consequence of it is he’s been able to survive so many actions that should have been resigning or vote of no confidence matters. I do blame Corbyn for 2016 too still though.

That was always going to be the biggest risk with it, at least in the short term - the impact on domestic politics, not the relationship with the EU. That might change as we start to come out of the pandemic properly though. 2024 is still a while away and the impacts are going to be a lot easier to define and Im not convinced the culture war is going to be enough for them to mitigate the impact when the reality of what they’ve signed up to really starts to hit home.

It’s also why the conservatives will be desperate to keep Johnson in for another year if they can and then make the change so they can do their reinvention in time for the next election and hope people don’t twig (again) that national political debate over the last decade hasn’t actually been about the important things at all, just what causes friction within the conservatives themselves.

There is only ever 1 party that is rife with MPs with second jobs, conflicts of interest from big donors, dodgy contracts, honours used as political pay off and general shithousery.

Labour are not perfect but on a scale of 1-10, labour are sub 3 and tories consistently in the 8+ range. As for this current lot, a perfect 10. We have never had such blatant corruption. So no they are not the same.
