Might be wrong, but I don’t think he will be irrevocably damaged by today’s events, certainly not in the minds of those who see him as their champion.

I don’t think so either, which is more depressing than anything tbh and shows how far we’ve fallen in our standards, both in terms of expectations of certain MPs themselves and also what some of the electorate are willing to allow depending on the individual.

I’d love to ask Rees Mogg in particular, if he truly believes in Parliament, given it’s ability to govern itself and the country across all aspects is the fundamental core of his position, how can he also believe that a parliamentary committee made up of predominately the governing party (of which he is a member) is a kangaroo court…

In his head and his supporters today Boris fought a biased committee and won. He's a hero who's waiting for the local elections to damage Sunak and begin the climb back to his rightful place as leader of this great country. His hero Winston Churchill was PM twice. It's his duty to do the same.

Someone who would like to be ‘the Woolworths of Nigel Farages’ is not to be taken seriously. When Rees-Mogg lauds Parliament what he really lauds is its traditions, privileges, and the preservation of everything established that serves his own interest. When Parliament functions to an other end, he is quick to attack and undermine it.

Watched the London news earlier, and while some in the vox pop from his constituency were critical of him, there were just as many who thought it a stitch up and wanted him back in charge. Six weeks tomorrow it’ll be the local elections and the first real test of Sunak at the polls, after which the ‘Big Dog’ howls will presumably become louder.
