He will be an unmitigated disaster and brexit aside which he cant deliver in this parliament, he has no policies either worthy of serious discussion.

It really is time for a GE and hopefully some sort of reset in our domestic politics.
Yep - we Leavers are - in the main - not big fans

Well I'm thoroughly looking forward to what Boris has lined up for us over the next few weeks and months!

Victoria derbyshire has got 10 tory members on 5 for hunt 5 for boris.

Delusion on the state of the UK atm, they really think it is running ok and their shitshow party are doing alright , they just need to sort brexit and everything will be rosy.

2 of them are 17 and fucking clueless, those the elder ones aren't much better.

The is a (slim) chance he won't make it to the end of the week as PM. Theresa May has to be able to tell the Queen that her successor can command a majority. Given the slim majority they Conservative Party currently have, if there are some more resignations and/or defections to other Parties then the Tories will have no majority

It all sounds a bit pie in the sky but they were discussing on the radio just now so I suppose it is a possible scenario, if only a small chance of actually happening

If Boris becomes PM today I firmly believe this is the Day that Great Britain becomes Great again. Our best pm hope since Churchill. Despite valiant efforts by Lady Thatcher and David Cameron, Boris with the aid of Jacob Rees Mogg truly can drive this country forward to another level.

I am hugely optimistic.

Only downside is that my Boris for PM hoody becomes slightly out of fashion.

I wish I had everyone else’s optimism this will be short lived. Personally I can see the more rational Tories leaving, Johnson using Trump populism tactics to intensify his support with the public, cement his position, and push through a hard brexit with his cabinet being made up of equally detestable careerists such as the fat **** himself.

Boy do I hope I’m wrong.

The numbers simply don’t add up to make that remotely likely imo.

This is the reality - he is intensely disliked by many Tory MPs. They could bring him down any day. However this is all about perception and he will be pushed very hard from day 1 to clarify what he is doing and how it is going to move forward. The fact that a no deal will be unacceptable and his attempts to renegotiate will end in failure will be made very clear and present. He will get backed into a corner. That is where it could get interesting, the obvious play is he stands his ground and demands no deal or refuses any other measure and he gets brought down by his own MPs. This would lead to a GE in the Autumn. However the curve ball is if Boris doesn't fancy a GE and he flips 180 and offers up a 2nd Ref. This plays out better as in a GE BJ faces a battle over his own seat let alone winning a majority.

Tories generally are in a state of total delusion - they think brexit will be put to bed one way or the other in the next 6 months. No chance. Boris will fail hard if he follows through on his commitment. He will get the same humiliating treatment May got - total failure to move anything forward in Brussels and losing vote after vote in the HoC. If they back themselves into a GE in the Autumn then it will only end one way.

Do a deal with Furhage to nick his supporters?

If nothing else that would be an interesting test of Farage's resolve. He could do a deal and get his beloved Brexit but diminish his party and his role - does anybody think the self publicity machine that is Nigel Farage would do a deal for what he would argue is the greater good coz I don't.

Put that rod and tackle away.
