Why is it based on lies?

I did not see Deal or No deal on the ballot paper it just said stay or remain.

The majority want out - even more so now. Did you not see the recent election results?

Lets just get out and move on.

The principle lie is that we can leave and get a good deal and very little will change other than we will be out of the EU. That is what was sold to the electorate and continues to be pushed by leavers. It is BS. We are either in or out and out has huge economic impacts as well as being incompatible with the GFA, masses of technical / logistical problems that can not be solved by idiots like Boris Johnson. There is no solution to the RoI / NI border so in reality out means going back to the troubles or splitting up the Union. The reality of what will happen and the BS that the likes of Boris come out with are a million miles apart.

Lets just get out and move on = regurgitated BS.

He is nothing like Trump.

Trump says things and does them often with no real regard for their impact.

Johnson says he will do things, fails to do them and then expends the remaining resources on finding a way to blame anyone but himself.

Why? Not why do you think that but what are the benefits to the country of going to the WTO? We would still need to negotiate a trade deal with the EU(from an extremely weak position), Canda etc. Also, it's not just about trade. There are other issues that would need to be considered. There is absolutely no benefit to this country of tearing up 40 years would of agreements on citizen rights', trade, environment standards, travel, aviation etc

Moving to WTO would be similar to the introduction of Universal Credit but on a much bigger scale.

Apparently the inpact of UC on the total welfare bill is fairly small. And there are nearly as many winners as losers. But I've yet to hear from anyone who reckons they're better off on UC. I've heard a litany of people who are badly affected, in many cases horrendously so. And, because the government invariably cocks up these major changes, I've heard from people who weren't really meant to be seriously affected by UC but have been trapped in a bureuacratic nightmare.

WTO will be similar, but bigger, Lots of losers, some winners. The winners will keep quiet, or complain that government bureaucracy is preventing them from taking advantage. But the main news agenda for the next 3 years at least will be dominated by people, businesses and industries who have been badly affected by WTO. Communities destroyed, industries wiped out. The government will be forced to spend tens of billions mitigating the effects on those who are worst affected.

I'm convinced that any government that introduced WTO would lose the subsequent general election.

You mean Patrick Minford? vs the plethora of economists who reckon it will be very damaging and to the detriment of the vast majority of us.
