It hardens the core Tory vote and it swings those from the brexit party, UKIP and dare i say it, those labour voters who want brexit but will never get it under this current Labour party.
He is building a cabinet ready for a GE here.

Possibly but how is stuffing a cabinet full of low-wattage Brexiteers going to attract Tory voters who defected in 2017 costing May her majority and voted LibDem in the EU elections? Winning back some Brexit Party Tories is fine but not if you shed more to the LibDems. Also a GE without any Brexit will still mean the Brexit Party getting between 12% and 15% of the vote. And what chance any Tory MP voting for a GE at any price? Basic self preservation is going to kick in.

A little off-topic here but surely the only necessary argument against Capital Punishment is - would you like to be falsely accused?
Cut Legal Aid, introduce CP and just kill the poor. Well, those that don’t kill themselves due to the UKs lamentable Mental Health Services. Which certainly won’t be improved by a self-imposed recession. But never mind, ‘will of the people’ and all that.....

Well the GE when it comes and i think it might be very soon will tell.
I’m missing something here, why would Johnson call an election? I think he’d probably win with a minority government(like the current situation) but it seems a huge risk with very little upside, from his perspective. Unless he wants out already, of course......
