I'd agree. I know he's far left for you lot but he wouldn't be any further left than say, Lemass or Ahern were here (he's actually fairly centrist by our standards) and I think after the last 10 years you could use a few years of a government that fucked off thinking about debt and deficits and just tried to fund growth and a rise in living standards.

Its funny coz the Sun, the Mail, the Telegraph etc bang on about it being his private life and a non-story then keep running it on their front page Lol - the Mirror says he is pining for his Mrs and wants to go bak to her and the Sun says they have had 4 blazing rows in 6 weeks so no wonder the Police were eventually called - afterall he had got home late from a night out - who's to say he hadn't been on Stella ?

This thing about the debates is piss funny too. Speaking only to a selected audience - not appearing in debates - only doing interviews with favoured journalists I mean this is Maydays playbook they are following and that was hardy a runaway success for them that time was it?

I expect Boris will win but by a much narrower margin - say 52% / 48% - a result that will do wonders for the healing of their Party - its always a winning ombo

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that the country could do with a dose of quasi-socialism for at least a decade. The arguments against that economic system don't hold nearly as much water as they did 40, 30, 20 or even 10 years ago imo; that said, Corbyn is effete and ineffectual so not the person best placed to deliver it.

McDonnell might though and the only way he gets chancellor is under Corbyn imo. Either way the UK needs some combination or coalition from the red book. Inequality is ridiculous over there at the moment.

Our country's economic, ecological and social problems are probably insurmountable but the advent of a Corbyn government is guaranteed to make them worse.

based on what exactly ? We have had 40 years. Of neo liberal crap , whatever corbyn does when he gets to power can only be of benefit to the nation as a whole , it would impossible to not improve on the shit show we have had for the past 9 years , the only problem is that these cretins are going to stretch it out to 2022 .

You'll believe it too. Go back and look at their policies and compare them to Corbyn. Ahern is further left even before the usual FF vote grabs. Lemass was a Connollyite (like myself).

Over the past century our country, like most of western Europe and many other places, has had its artificially high standard of living steadily eroded as the rest of the world successfully competes for its increasing and rightful share of scarce resources. UK politics is essentially about managing our decline in the ever more hostile and desperate context of running dog eat running dog globalized capitalism. Unfortunately it is the only game in town and Jezzer's cabal of 70s class warrior throwbacks trying to con millions of young gullible voters that they can overturn the capitalist system and create a revolutionary socialist paradise is simply dishonest.
