Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

Unfortunately it means nothing. Give it a couple of months and he’ll be back. Some of the electorate of this country would vote him back in whatever he did wrong!

I have said on BM a few times that I don’t hate anyone and it is not a word I like but he is the closest I have ever come to hating anyone.

This move helps him on a few fronts.

It stuffs Rishy who has to have another by election.

It tries to suggest he doesn't accept the verdict due Monday and shift the way that news will be seen.

But longer term, he avoids having to fight an election as MP of a marginal seat. He can spend the next year taking in cash from dodgy donors and basically planning on being the next tory leader after Rishy loses the next election. The problem he might have is what will be left to lead?

Ultimately Sunak retains sufficient a majority for it not to impact his ability to govern. Sadly he has no ability to govern. Meanwhile rumours abound tonight that Johnson is to possibly pair up with Farage to form a new R/W Party - that kind of split of the vote makes the Tories the Greens

The issue of the by elections is that the tories will likely lose every one. And each one a knife in Rishy's longer term prospects.

RE Farage and anything like that, zero chance of that. BJ is smart enough to know that the next election will be a blood bath for all the right wing parties. Only the ultra safe tory MPs can have any kind of confidence. If he can't get one of those he will stay out.

Quite possibly they will lose every one but it won't be a knife into Rishi - he is gone at the next GE if he even gets that far - Rishi will be back in Silicon Valley by 2025 - the knife will be plunged into the Tory Party itself as I said earlier Johnson doesn't give a fuck about them - if he thought he could benefit personally from joining Labour and standing for them he would do so in a heartbeat

And Starmer would have him and drop him in a safe seat.

Even if he can’t be prosecuted I hope that the Privilege committee report would be kept open to be resumed if he became an MP again.
