I am not too hung up on our opponents signing, they are luxury signings apart from Costa and don't relate to a need. Costa the only signing g who is filling a real need a real gap at Chelsea and he is a one season wonder who is a lot more of a risk than people think, he is 26 has a 1 in 3 scoring record over 200 odd games and won't have a team built around him. Fabregas I don't understand they have younger fitter better players and he has played in losing sides for a decade with Barca not able to get rid of him quick enough and pushing him out the door.
Sanchez a good player but one of those who you think is 20 when they are 25 and always threatens to be world class but never is. They also have lots of players of that ilk so he replaces someone who is good , arsenal need an aguero or van Persie a Yaya or a Vidal and if they choose to spend elsewhere they are stupid frankly

As for city we looked at what we need to complete the jigsaw and we have gone for the exact players who do that and we are building a team not buying luxury players for the sake of it! Very professional by is and I think we will be stronger next year I am not sure apart from the rags the others will be
Huh i am sorry but this is a troll post. Since when is not making it at Barca a bad thing? FFS they got rid of Eto'o who was probably the best striker in the world.

25? You call that old. Don't forget he played for Barcelona who are stacked attacking wise. The likes of ibrahimovic and Villa at times struggled because of the tactics being solely built around Messi and rightly so.

Despite this bad post i do agree with one thing, they needed an out and out goal scorer like Suarez or Aguero rather more than a wide wing forward that Sanchez is. but then again you could argue that when players of his quality are available you in no world say no/

When Sanchez is tearing up the PL, i will remember this post.

Great for Arsenal. what I think was really good from them the speed they did this deal similar to Fabregas/Chelsea.

First news about it came after Suarez had the bite incident on the WC, that Liverpool might ask Sanchez+money for Suarez. Sanchez wanted to go to London instead, Arsenal instantly put in a good deal and probably 1-2 weeks later its done.

Fabregas to Chelsea wasnt slower than this probably. Get there, put down the money and take a really good player. Good for them. Both will be key players for their team.

On one side you are right, both were fast deals, at least seemed like this and didnt drag for long weeks but also important reason for it there wanst huge interest in any of these players from top clubs.

Fabregas was offered for English clubs, Barca did this as for them it didnt matter which team he leaves for just wanted the best fee for him, only Chelsea made a bid not even Arsenal as Wenger said...
And he probably wanted to go back to PL so it left him no other options just he one bid there was infor him.

Sanchez:

Well Pool did ask about him but he wasnt a fix target for them , only a possibility if they have to sell Suarez but they either valued him at different price or just as you say Sanchez preferred London/Arsenal, but for this reason at least they can ask a huge amount for Suarez maybe 60-70m pounds.

Chelsea, United, City was not in for him, if any of these would have made a bid too I dont think he is at Arsenal so fast...

Only reported interest came from Juve but they probably couldnt match the bid and also the wages while Serie A has not as much power as PL so even Juve as main favourite for the title cant get players like the 4th in England.

(Btw I saw and heard how Serie A top clubs wait for signings from England like Ashely Cole, Vidic, Evra, that are clearly over the hill and not good enough for a starting spot in English top teams yet labelled huge signings for Inter, Roma, Juve etc.

Cant see ream big stars going to Italy while current stars of theirs will be leaving in next two years too, Vidal, Pogba, El-Sharawi, Balotelli, etc.)

But agree on that current market prices both Sanchez and Fabregas look good deals.
(We probably couldnt get Barkley or Mangala for less than 35-40m pounds. )

i am really jealous of this signing.

Why the hell were we not in for him.

Aguero and Sanchez up front would have been unreal
A) We don't need him

B) We're then not going to spunk the rest of our transfer budget on a player we don't need
Actually, we do need him. We just needed a centreback, DM and GK more importantly. Sanchez is better than anything we have down the right.

We dont need him just because he's better, then we need a whole ton of players! We already have plenty og quality there.

And that makes him a necessity does it?

We have secured Nasri on a long term deal and with Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo, Silva, Toure and Navas we are not short on attacking options. Sanchez wasn't top priority and he favoured a move to London than to the North West.

No trolling - there is a type of bluemoon poster (you may be one) who every time one of the other teams sign a player thinks we should have signed them and they are better than messi . In my experience players who at 25 have never torn up a league rarely start doing so and I am not worried. If he was half as good as you said he would have done more in his 17 years than been a back up in a good Barcelona side, a good player in a poor league and a first choice in the worst Barca side in a decade. Simple as!

Yes he is a good player as is ozil as is Willian as is nasri but he won't win a league on his own and it is arsenal signing him because they can not because he fills a need. Balotelli would have been a far better signing for them (and could still be)

No we do not need him at all, you may want him but we do not need him by any stretch of the imagination imo.

@agyeiboateng Your jealous? well that is rather immature do you not think?.
It is not football manager bud and we can't sign everyone who is the flavour of the day.
Just look at our squad now, no way in hell would i ever imagine we would have such players as we do now in say 1995. This is not a "be grateful for what you have" post but rather one of "come on mate, your jealous? smarten up bud".

Why are we signing defenders when we already have 4 in VK, MDM, Boyata and Rekik? Because the last two are not of suficient (sp?) quality. If i had to choose one area for us to strengthen after DM,CB and Gk it would be the right hand side. Navas is of decent quality for now and we will still perform well with him in it. Next season i fully expect us to sign a right sided winger.
