Messi is also reported to have attacked Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez, who signed from Udinese for 37 million euros in 2011, saying, "Considering how bad you are, I've no idea how you cost so much," and, "Stop shooting so much and give me the ball."

It's very strange if we showed no interest in Sanchez. Aguero's injury record being what it is Sanchez would be perfect to either play alongside him or cover him if injured. We have without doubt missed a trick here, even if it meant sacrificing Jovetic or Negredo to fund the deal. It's a bit like 2012 for me,yes we have strengthened a few areas but nothing to say we will really push on.

Not pushed on how mate? Sagna is an upgrade on micah if for anything his fitness! Caballero would start at alot of top clubs in europe and fernando is a massive upgrade on rodwell and garcia! Most importantly they seem like TEAM players and GOOD characters. Dont forget last year who we signed?

But Micah hardly played.

Its not like he was first choice. Our first choice RB happens to be the best in the league so we haven't really upgraded tbh. Just added depth

We have improved,no doubt about that. Just not significantly while others seem to really be bridging the gap to us. I thought this summer would see us with a few top notch signings while watching all the rest get smaller in our rear view mirror as we sped away!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, give your head a wobble

Why? Didnt they have one of the best defensive records in the league last yr... If Ramsey can replicate his season without getting injured. Plus Khedira rejected a contract today so that could be another plus for Arsenal

However, without a striker they will never achieve anything in the pl. They should go after higuian!
I completely agree that Arsenal have a very very good team and they are not far off of us. Arsenal are still active in the transfer market and should sign Debuchy as well as one of Khedira and Bender. However, i doubt Ramsey and Wilshere will be paired up as they played poorly when both were in the cm positions.
Thinking of this surely Arsenal are going to let some players go
Wilshere
Ramsey
Ozil
Carzola
Arteta
Walcott
The OX
Alexis
Giroud

A lot of players to keep happy tbh

.........ramsey.....wilshere......

Sanchez.....ozil........theo....

Decent striker and Gk and they're same standard as us and chelsea

I would still take Birthday boy, Fernandinho, Fernando, Spanish Dave and Nasri.
Perfect blend of muscle and creativity.

Another thing is Arsenal's young stars are young...
Ramsey, Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez. Ox etc all have plenty of years left

Toure, Silva, Nasri Fernandinho do not at the very highest level especially Toure. We need to start buying younger players tbh

I have been a little dissapointed but i understand because of the FFP.

Like you said Chelsea signing Fabregas and Costa, Arsenal Alexis, we have really signed that marquee player yet.

We need another striker and defender to compete against Bayern and Barca imo

Both Cazorla and Arteta rumoured to leave.

Our spending cap without question is a problem and obviously teams like arsenal and chelsea know we are capped this year so have gone for it! Remember khaldhoons interview about taking a pinch? We will certainly be competitive though!

I am not too hung up on our opponents signing, they are luxury signings apart from Costa and don't relate to a need. Costa the only signing g who is filling a real need a real gap at Chelsea and he is a one season wonder who is a lot more of a risk than people think, he is 26 has a 1 in 3 scoring record over 200 odd games and won't have a team built around him. Fabregas I don't understand they have younger fitter better players and he has played in losing sides for a decade with Barca not able to get rid of him quick enough and pushing him out the door.
Sanchez a good player but one of those who you think is 20 when they are 25 and always threatens to be world class but never is. They also have lots of players of that ilk so he replaces someone who is good , arsenal need an aguero or van Persie a Yaya or a Vidal and if they choose to spend elsewhere they are stupid frankly

As for city we looked at what we need to complete the jigsaw and we have gone for the exact players who do that and we are building a team not buying luxury players for the sake of it! Very professional by is and I think we will be stronger next year I am not sure apart from the rags the others will be
