Because 500k a week is serous money and I wouldn't blame anyone for taking it

Yea, assuming a 50% tax rate, a 4 year contract and a £300k City offer - that's another £20 million or so in your pocket.

How the hell PSG can spend the money they do and pay the wages they do without FFP tripping them up I don't know.

But this is one transfer I'm sanguine about missing if we do. Would rather we got a new CB and left the door open for an Academy kid to break through.

Listening to some chap from L'equip, or whatever it's called, yesterday, he was saying that Quatar are basically using their national businesses to hyper inflate the sponsorship deals with the club. Same thing we got investigated over with our etihad deal, on wengers bequest. But it's obviously ok for them to do that because they ain't us.

They haven't signed anybody have they ?

They were punished, same as us, & now have a budget for the transfer window, as we do.

We are signing loads of players for large amounts of money & they don't seem to be.

If we'd reached the stage where we only have to sign one or two players, then we could have spent over 200 mil on 2 players.

True, but don't we have the 5th best turn over in European football? Don't pretend to understand it all, just repeating what I heard on an interview yesterday.

Watching the odds on Oddschecker is interesting.

We were major odds-on to land him a couple of weeks ago which changed to as high as 12/1 a couple of days ago - now back to mainly around 2/1 with a bit higher at a couple of bookies.

So some money has come in for him coming to us in the last couple of days.

I think that the assumption that now PSG have come in and Arsenal would be willing to sell to them and not us is being replaced with the view that the £500k pw demand is him doing to PSG what he did do Bayern.

At least I hope so

I think they have the 6th, a few mil behind.

They must be subject to the same regulations we are, so if they are bringing in huge revenue from wherever & fucking David Gill over, fair play to them I say.

If we coud get a consistent team together & use a few homegrown players, rather than habing to keep replacing all positions, we could soon reach a point where we could blow everybody out of the water for a one off signing.

Wouldn't surprise me if it happens in the next couple of years.

You also have to consider the wage structure and I believe from the little bits that I've read on here that that has been sorted out over the last couple of years.....less basic wage and bigger bonuses.....also makes it easier to move players on I guess when the time is right.

That should help solve the FFP conundrum as well

My dream scenario is Neymar to Psg, Coutinho to Barca, Sanchez to us. Win, win, win for us in the premier league
