Alexis Sanchez

Instinct, mate. Nothing else. From City's point of view, we're playing brilliantly and the competition for places is arguably even higher than we anticipated a couple of months ago. From Sanchez's POV, he'll be a few months closer to being able to sell himself to the highest bidder.

These were always factors, and rivalry for places can be positive. I just feel there have been subtle changes in the balance. Many times in life, if you don't seize the moment, it soon passes.
Cheers,thats fair enough.

Although i do think we will be back for him,the deal appeared far too down the line just for both parties to forget about it a few months later.

I agree, rivalry for places can be positive.
(Well, not always, talking about Nolito, Nacho, Bony or Navas...)

I just wonder who those rivals for our front 3 places are right now? Sané, Jesus, Raz. Who else?
Maybe you didn't talk about the current situation where Sergio is out for a while.
KDB (small injury too) and Bernardo could play on the right wing, but not as natural competitors for those 3 in the front line.

You need competitors to have competition, so shouldn't you support the idea of adding Sanchez then?
What about tight season schedule and rotation?

As you have followed that summer drama about Sanchez to City,
why should he do a U-turn and want to "sell himself to the highest bidder" when he refused Bayern and PSG before?
Why has he been so furious on 1 Sept when he is only after a big signing on fee end of his contract?
Maybe there are more factors in this than money alone. Pep, CL, Guardiola, a great project. Or Pep.

You might be right for the outcome though. But for different reasons, like Arsenal.

Hi mate. I was explaining what I think WILL happen. I'd have no problem at all signing Sanchez if Pep can handle the man management issues and expectations. That includes both wage relativities and selection dilemmas. There's no reason to say he can't, but it's a risk nonetheless.

Yes, of course I factored in Kun. Why wouldn't I? Sanchez won't be joining us before Aguero's scheduled return.

Depending on his price and remuneration package, the extra possibilities offered by Sanchez could prove a fruitful investment. When push comes to shove, we are playing for big, big stakes this season. Your points about tight schedules and rotation are good ones.

Everything else is gut feel, as I explained to Fantasy Ireland. On balance I don't believe it will happen. If it does, and based on current outlook, I won't be unhappy. Nor will I lose beauty sleep if it doesn't come off. Quite relaxed either way. Things can change though.

There weren't moments to sieze. Arsenal wouldn't sell, thats all.

Cheers mate, I fully agree!

I still think we need him. But he won't be a guaranteed starter which at his stage of his career might make him think twice about.

Neither will he be a guaranteed starter at PSG or anywhere else of the calibre of club looking to sign him.

So,that aside,i think its the Pep factor that has swayed him in our direction, the football we are currently playing will only enhance that,IMO.

PSG are working on a deal to replace striker Edinson Cavani with Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez (28) next summer. [Le Parisien]

Although Alexis is tempted by Paris, he remains very keen on a move to Manchester City, who still hope to sign him. [Le Parisien]

We're an even more attractive proposition than we were in the summer when he was already mad for us as we've made a blistering start whereas Arsenal and Bayern have been mediocre.
Really think that we should press on in trying to sign him.

Alexis wants to play in the PL, if it is not with us it will probably be for Chelsea or United.

I do not want to see something like:
Lukaku + Sánchez or Harzard + Sánchez

We will go for him in January I feel as I think United will and Chelsea will too.

We were Arsenal signing a repoacement away from getting him in the summer, so I don't think we will just forget all the work we did in the summer trying to get him eventually stand for nothing.

I think by the looks of it both Ozil and Sanchez are set to leave for free next summer so I think Arsenal will possibly want to cash in on at least one of them in January.

Let's hope alexis has told wenger to find his replacement by January now it's decided he's going to leave.

No doubt Wenger could still leave it until the last minute of the January transfer window ..........................and fail again !

if we get him then fine but i wont be toping myself if he goes elswhere,,were a couple of tweeks from becoming the best team in Europe on percentage terms i'd say were 80% there so the next couple of signings are going to be very important even if they have to wait until the end of season window,,what i will raise a glass to is when Sanchez moves on and stuffs Arsenal for in excess of 50 million crispy ones

I'm sick of the media trying to console themselves by printing stories about Sanchez going to PSG, because Neymar wants him or even more laughable that the scum are in for him. They're shit scared of him coming to us because he will improve what is already a formidable forward line. Unless we've decided against signing him, which is highly doubtful there's only one place he's going and anybody with an ounce of common sense knows it's to us.
