He went through a spell where he seemed really frustrated around February time, when the whole team looked down and out and it seemed the manager was destined to leave.

Since the system change, something has clicked, the players seemed to knuckle down again and he seemed back to his usual self. We won 9 out the last 10 games with many players looking a lot more comfortable with the new system.

If he doesn't sign a new contract and we made him stay then it would be inevitable he would leave, probably to yourselves or Chelsea might even come in the reckoning then. The hope would obviously be that he continues to give 100%, since he'd want to play well in a world cup year and to also impress potential new clubs.

Honest opinion

Do you reckon he will stay

Would he really get dropped from national team even if he had a bad season. Seems like he would always get picked to me, but I could be very wrong...
No chance. Him and Vidal hold that team together.

Plus, Eduardo Vargas has performed fairly badly in club football for the last four+ years and yet he's remained an important part of the Chile setup.

Honestly, I'd probably put it at 30% chance he'll stay. I can see the arguments for selling him, and I see the arguments for making him stay.

I also make you guys favourites to get him over Bayern, all the noises are that he'd prefer you guys so usually it's down to what the player wants.

From our perspective, while I'd be gutted to see him go, I don't see it as the end of an era or an automatic giving up on a decent challenge. I don't think you replace someone like him with a single player, so if you replace his output with a similar player in his position, and a top striker, we could end up with a more rounded team. What it does for you guys though is make you incredibly strong in the forward positions especially. Think most would agree you would be strong favourites for the title then.

I don't think he's going to be too fussed about 'playing well in a world cup year'. Their national coach would not have the balls to drop him from the World Cup squad, even if he is benched by Arsenal. Face it, your club and Wenger will never let Sanchez leave on a free, and he would not be interested in playing in the Europa League when so many teams could offer him Champions League. Maybe, he would have renewed his contract, at much higher wages, if your club were still in the Champions League, but I don't think he will now. The way I see it, Wenger is probably going to buy Mahrez and maybe Lacazette, and then sell off Sanchez to cover the costs.

sanchez looked frustrated all season and I'm not sure he was back to his usual self as you put it,and he could play shit all next season and still get into the chile squad.

imo arsenal are not ambitious enough for sanchez, your board and management really don't give a fuck about winning the league, or to be honest what the fans think, just happy to finish in the top four and make plenty of money and it pleases me because in the league of arrogant fans, self entitled fans you lot are joint first in the league, despicable fans, you've stagnated as a club, could of done something about it but didn't have the bollox.

I hope its a long slow painful time for arsenal fans ,your a whinging spiteful bunch of self entitled ,gobshites Viva la Revolution.

oh and whilst I'm at it arsenal tv have made arsenal fans a laughing stock.

My personal opinion is you really need to start rebuilding and Sanchez going could be a positive thing for you

But Wenger is not the man to rebuild you

Appreciate your comments on this thread and good insight of what Arsenal fans feel

Thanks mate, not sure some people above feel the same haha. It's only my own personal feelings, I'm not 1 of these 'new fans' where everything is all sugar, or all shite, or try and portray too much 'self entitlement.' Just come on to give some honest views.

Different people have different views that's what makes a forum

Keep posting

It's not about getting dropped from the National Team, of course he wouldn't get dropped.

It's more his sense of pride he has in his own performance, he wants to play well, he wants to be the main man, he likes the adulation. He'll want to be in good form going into the world cup, not to get in the team because that's a given, but to give him the best chance to perform well on the world stage.

He's just laid on a great assist vs Russia i think a minute after coming on which shows what he offers in the final 3rd.

The lad has shown good manners posting in here so this is a little out of order to be fair.

I used to post on 606 when we were shite and the torrent of abuse we got from arsenal supports has left a scar , i actually dislike them more than united fans.

I went a little over the top and apologise for that, his posts didn't deserve that, just a little tired and grumpy after a hard day.

No problem mate, I know theres a fair number of fuds within our support, especially online nowadays.

I used to post a bit in the Arsenal thread the past couple of years as I like to discuss and debate with fans of different clubs, but a few folk just liked to rant and fume so I just backed off a bit haha.

It's Friday, enjoy your weekend!
