But no agent is going to come in and demand to a club that they get £400,000 a week. They will demand an overall financial package and it will be up to the club to decide how they pay it. Whether that is in easy to achieve bonuses or a bigger signing on fee, that will all add to the overall deal. The rumoured KDB signing on fee for his new deal is staggering and we already own him!

I think that the weekly wage is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to players finances. It also wouldn't be difficult to pay any player the package Sanchez wants whilst getting them to accept a wage of around £200,000 a week.
Good points made.

Been a disaster. He could have been the missing piece in the jigsaw. Hope we can turn the season round.
If he was 24 years old I agree. But at 29, with Kun being 29 too, that jigsaw wouldn’t be lasting long before some more pieces needed putting in.

I'v read the last few pages a few times now and I have no fu%$in idea what is going on lol but if he comes great..... if not "shrug" I trust the guys in charge. when the season started there was no way I considered Delph good enough for a starting place and that Raheem would become a goal machine. Love being proved to be a KFA By our amazing club CTID Now let's smash looserpool

The problem with this stance is it doesn't have a very high success rate does it? We tried it with Hazard, we tried it with RVP, we tried it with Alves. And they all went for the money. If the rumours are true and we add Sanchez to this list then the club really needs to have a think about their "the player will choose us over money" strategy.

A number of them never play out in the media , all clubs miss out on players they think will improve the squad.

We have done ok so far and yes I have said we need 4 quality players in CD , DM and upfront over the next two windows and I am sure we endeavour to achieve that.

It often is, so fingers crossed! If it’s any encouragement, spoke to someone from the media who was at the club briefing today and he said his gut feeling was still that City would get him.
Never trust a cleaner. !

I'm strangely not gutted he's moving on, even to United. It's been obvious for a while he's leaving, his era at Arsenal has now been and gone. From our point of view, I'm just hoping for a bit of a rebuild over the next couple of windows. At least it would give us something different to look forward to.

From your perspective, I said it in the summer, and I said it before Utd came in for him, I honestly don' think he would improve you that much. I honestly don't think he is that next level signing any more, and you guys level is pretty high to begin with. I know he got slated but there were things I agreed with Marv on.

In simple terms, I'd rather have Pep and his vision, than Mourinho and a 29 year old Sanchez.

No they don't!

You forgot to mention the ones we did get at the right cost. The three you mentioned, Hazard appears to be a player who plays well for a half a season and then goes missing for the other half. RVP turned out to be a 1 season wonder and Instead of Alves we got Walker who probably has another 4 seasons more than Alves has in him. I think its you that needs to re-think not the club.

Maybe. Personally I suspect the reason we've gone cold on this is more to do with the goal posts shifting in terms of his wage than giving a relatively small bit extra to Arsenal or a fee to his agent. If that is the case then I assume there is a good reason why the club don't feel we can give him what he wants.

I think this is the most likely explanation to the events in this transfer.

What I will add though is that I don't think we have helped matters by trying to get him on the dirt cheap and sticking to a certain value.
