Alexis Sanchez

Jesus benched Aguero last season before injury. Sanchez hasn't even kicked a ball for us and you are saying he is already the best/2nd best striker we have. That's how I see it.

Glad it makes you laugh though.

This myth that he benched Aguero taken in by sheep he had just come back from an injury thats why he was on the bench and not risked.

What happened when Jesus came back from his injury did Aguero get "Benched" again?

Because Aguero was coming off an injury. Whether Alexis has kicked a ball for us or not is irrelevant. If Messi was this heavily rumoured to join id be saying he'd be the best player at the club.

I like the idea but in reality it won't happen. We ALWAYS take the foot off the gas. It's infuriating watching us dilly dally the last 15 minutes when in true there are times we could reach double figures. I know I'm pathetic and greedy but I just want to batter everyone. Then gloat like fuck :)

Imagine a scenario where we are 4-0 up after an hour and instead of bringing on Navas and Fernandinho for Jesus and Merlin, we bring on Bernardo Silva and Sané, both pissed off that they didn't start.

Instead of everyone realising it's game over time to relax, instead we'll have players desperate to earn a start next week turning up the intensity when they come off the bench.

Pep made some comments about how he thought we needed to get past 2,3-0 up and push for 4,5,6-0 and then we did start doing that at the end of the season with a few 5 goal games, so I think it's something he is going to push for.

Wrong. There will almost certainly be a front 3 that plays the large majority. Sterling and Sane are not in it.

If that's the set up Pep wanted he wouldn't be striving for 6 world class players over 3 positions.

There will be 40+ games for all 5 of the front 3 players.

Real Madrid won the league this year for the first time in five years, and I think the vaunted claim of Premier League competitiveness is open to scrutiny.
Real Madrid need a high-quality squad because they are expected to go all the way in tournaments and win them, which necessitates quality players who can be rotated.
Saw some terrible performances by Celta Vigo and Sevilla in Europe. I don't think that the quality of the Premiership is high, but it is intensely competitive because all the Premiership teams have money. They buy the best players, and they are so desperate to stay in the premier league so they fight so hard. But the ery best players still go to barcelona and Real madrid and the other clubs in Spain are starved of money.

I'd have snatched your hand off to sign Sanchez when he moved to and from barca. Now I think it's legitimate to think about his age, but you also see a similar type of explosive player in Ronaldo still playing at the top level. And you also have to think of the now. Especially a coach who has to win trophies, not build a team for tomorrow. If you want to think of the now, he would be the best player. You should not even have to think about it. The slight doubts I have are that I think his game May start to dip, or change in relatively near future and that we'd also lose a really top player as well from our forward line. They might all stay and fight for a place, but in the medium term I think one will go. Either Sterling or Aguero would likely be pushed out obviously depends whether he signs, and whether the other forwards can raise their game.
I think it's the perfect signing and perfect age for us. We already have Sané, Sterling, Jesus and Bernardo in the attacking positions that are so, so young. We're missing another guy in his prime. When you look at it in paper, it looks to be a great age mix:

Jesus - 20
Sané - 21
Sterling - 22
Bernardo - 22
De Bruyne - 25
Sanchez - 28
Aguero - 29
Silva - 31

Madrid have Benzema and Ronaldo at 29 and 32, Barca have Messi and Suarez at 29 and 30. So Alexis and Aguero at 28 and 29 compares favourably. Plus we then have swathes of youth below them.

Sterling is under pressure even without Sanchez, but Sane is a certain starter. If Sanchez was to sign it would be Sane and Sanchez for sure and then 50.50 between Aguero and Jesus, and my money would be on Jesus long term. He's just an absolute live-wire and his acceleration in the final 3rd just leads to chances. My front 3 would be Sane, Sanchez and jesus

Aguero, Jesus, Sanchez, Sterling and Sanchez competing for 3 positions isn't overkill. It's bloody fantastic.

Let's not quickly forget the days where Aguero was injured so we were relying on Bony, while a young Iheanacho waited on the bench.

At our best we had Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko & Balotelli (11-13) or Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo & Jovetic competing for the one or two positions. This is while the likes of Silva, Nasri, Navas, Milner and Johnson played out wide.

All 5 will get a good amount of game time with a prefered three in the bigger games, which perhaps may be Sanchez, Aguero, Jesus.

Haha only on here could people complain about signing a player like Sanchez! Kaldhoon is aiming for at least a treble next season, everyone will get game time
