I agree.

Imagine if KDB/Sergio were in the same position, we would consider it almost derisory.

I cant believe we have said this is the maximum we will pay.

Declaring this, has given United encouragement to outbid us.
The bid to Arsenal at this point is immaterial. The important factor is what terms Sanchez is prepared to settle for and where he wants to play.

Speaking of FFP, does anyone have any idea what our position is with regards to summer transfers? It's just I'm thinking we spent big the last two summers, the fees will obviously be amortised over the length of the players' contracts but are we left with a lot left over to do more strengthening when the season ends? I suppose a lot depends on how well we do in the CL i.e. more prize money.
We won't be bringing in more than a couple of players, Guardiola has already stated that.

He definitely wants to play for Pep. I can't help thinking he's going to the swamp now because we want give Arsenal a reasonable fee.

Unfortunately Sanchez's strong desire to leave Arsenal this month, if true, means he will go to United rather than his preferred move to us.

I hope we have a couple of players lined up and one is a CH.

Are cutting our nose of to spite our face?

Have to admit I'm pissed off that we have put in all this work for nothing and that's just this thread!

Why have players so little control of their agents?

They don't but the agents are greedy fucking parasites , and the players benefit from their greed,

I agree with a lot of your points especially the ones that have to do with the team spirit and togetherness. Don't know the "one of our more experienced players" you're referring to but if it's the one I think you're referring to, I'd say the guy has a very good relationship with other players. You can tell the way they respect him and acknowledge him. You can even tell from the way he celebrates with the rest of the team from the bench when we score an important goal jumping on players and acting like a 5 year old. I also think the players see him as quite funny and he revels in his hilarity.

Re: Sanchez, if we don't get him, then fair enough. We'd look for someone else but I've got to be honest there are so many boxes he ticks. Any opportunity to continue to advance ahead of our rivals should be taken seriously.

In terms of ability alone, I don't think our players are so far ahead of the competition. My EPL teamXI front 3 would have Sanchez, Hazard, Salah, Kane, Mane, Eriksen in contention and I honestly don't see Aguero, Sterling and Sane as first choice out of that lot. This is my view with respect to defence too however in midfield we are head and shoulders above the competition.

The difference has been Pep, our goal keeper, full backs and the spirit of togetherness that you mentioned. My fingers are crossed to see how this all plays out.

I don’t want to go off topic because it’s the Sánchez thread but I meant before Pep put the ‘more experienced player’ in his place last season. His attitude before that was disgusting and clearly had a negative affect on the team spirit and togetherness, the squad unity wasn’t there as players were getting picked on reputation/big names rather than merit.

Anyway back to Sánchez, you’re right he does tick a lot of boxes and I’d love him here don’t get me wrong but if he goes elsewhere he’s not good enough individually to make up for our team play and a good team will always beat good individuals.

No-one will remember or care what we pay to agents if we win 2 or 3 trophies this season, and we're more likely to achieve that with Sanchez here than with him at a rival.

If, after having agreed terms with him in summer we now sit back and let him go to that shower of shit not only will it strengthen them it will give the rag media and their gobshite sheep more ammunition to have a go at us. We'd also look pretty smalltime to general fans and in the football world for future transfers. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet to stop a hated rival getting a boost.

We should sign Sanchez whatever the cost, we need him anyway as it's a long season and we're in with a serious shout at 4 trophies. Don't give those rag cünts any encouragement at all.
Yeah, yeah. Assemble a top executive team, introduce a sustainable wage structure, develop a global strategy that’s the envy of the footballing world, foster a brilliant team spirit...then shit your pants and drop every principle when the rags come a-sniffin.
