The bid to Arsenal at this point is immaterial. The important factor is what terms Sanchez is prepared to settle for and where he wants to play.
The bid to Arsenal is not immaterial. He is under contract to Arsenal until summer, if they are not satisfied with the fee, they wont sell.

And they cost you triple what we will pay for Sanchez.

How will we be able to afford one of these players and a CB and a CM? You are looking at 250-300m spent next season.

Jesus tap-dancing Christ -- you just posted "we have billions!" I don't think it's nailed on that we need any attackers at all until Kun leaves anyway.

FFS.

Agree with Karen, you are either a wum or a schizo. You are arguing for arguing's sake, and you're posting senselessly. Toodles.

Genuinely don’t want him now. His agent following United. Well fuckoff then and good luck.
This was mentioned yesterday, someone reckoned he had been following them for months. He's a top player that wants us. IMO we should compromise and offer say £28m + £5m in bonus'.

Speaking of FFP, does anyone have any idea what our position is with regards to summer transfers? It's just I'm thinking we spent big the last two summers, the fees will obviously be amortised over the length of the players' contracts but are we left with a lot left over to do more strengthening when the season ends? I suppose a lot depends on how well we do in the CL i.e. more prize money.
I never really get a grip over this amortisation stuff but from what I can understand [!!!] about it is that the full cost of a player plus his salary costs are divided up year on year over the course of his contract and that if that player leaves for free at the end of his contract, his registration will have been 'break even' which is how Sanchez will be regarded on the Arsenal annual accounts. Now in the real world of physical money, the Arsenal Directors will see it as money lost, and if he had been sold for the talked about £65m last summer then that would be a physical gain of somewhere around £30m, and none of this airy fairy accountancy stuff that may arise this summer.
