Alexis Sanchez

Speaking of FFP, does anyone have any idea what our position is with regards to summer transfers? It's just I'm thinking we spent big the last two summers, the fees will obviously be amortised over the length of the players' contracts but are we left with a lot left over to do more strengthening when the season ends? I suppose a lot depends on how well we do in the CL i.e. more prize money.

Why does how many years remain in the player contract matter ?

We paid millions for players with much less quality than Sanchez, so why refuse to pay now for WC player.
It's to teach Wenger a hard lesson. Piss about with us and try to mess up our season, and you'll pay for it. At £65m, it's a lesson he isn't going to forget.

I still think if we want say a Dybala/Greizman or any top striker in the summer, we have to drop Sanchez interest... and play a better long game with the budget. Unless Sergio somehow leaves. Would be very Pep wouldn't it?

Sanchez is worth the outlay of 35 million just because he can play anywhere in the front 3 for a good period of time. I was less bothered about it in the summer when the fee was higher. I would have preferred a LB or DM but because of Arsenal’s fuckwittery it’s now a very good option. If we don’t get him it’s a blow but shot happens. Let’s just not pretend it isn’t it’s a bit desperate from some on here.

Funny how all these spurious arguments weren’t there when we were the only ones in for him. Money? Who cares it ain’t ours. The other teams will shit it when we sign him, we will get stronger it will demoralise them, er oh shit he might go to the rags, well don’t want him if money is paramount no no no. If he doesn’t want to come and play beautiful football he can’t be right for us, Pmsl the joys of blinkered supporters.
All those things are true but we will have budgeted for this transfer. Not only this transfer but any other transfers we might have lined up for this transfer window and also the summer. We cannot allow ourselves to become fixated on one potential transfer thereby jeopardising our whole long term transfer strategy. If he comes on the terms that were agreed between him and the club previously then fine, he'll get to wear a sky blue shirt, if however he starts to dick us around with the bogeyman of going to one of our rivals in the hope of getting better terms then I'm sure City won't have any hesitation in fucking him off sharpish. And quite rightly so.

Genuinely don’t want him now. His agent following United. Well fuckoff then and good luck.

Ok.

So, let me get this straight...

If City pass up the opportunity to sign Alexis for 35m, who do you think we will sign next season in the same position?

Dybala?
Griezmann?

How much will that cost you? 100m plus?

Get Alexis now and save yourselves having to pay over 100m for players in the same position.

Dybala is 24 and Greizman is 26 you hammerhead.
