Alexis Sanchez

The really shocking thing is that over on the Caf they are laughing off any interest that Chelsea may have in Sanchez.

Not because of anything to do with footballing reasons but because of wages, they are basing this on Hazard being their top earner on around £200k a week.

They are laughing that Chelsea won't pay the money Sanchez wants as it is nearly double that figure at approx £350 -£400k per week.

They believe they have won Sanchez's heart and that he has chosen them, the real reason is that none else is even considering going near the figures quoted.

Deluded that they think he is moving for any other reason than money

Pmsl

Correct. It's still nice beating them though. We do seem to have a couple of good youngsters. I hope they get through to the first team. Home grown players have an affection for the club which fans love. Which is why we all love Jack Wilshere.
Arsenal always have good youth sides, it was a surprise you were in Div 2 a couple of years back, you must be near the top of Div 1 and in with a chance this season, I know Liverpool and Leicester are up there too

He clearly doesn't want to play for United otherwise he would have surely signed by now. I wouldn't be surprised if the greedy little shit stayed and went on a free in the summer. In two weeks he's worth nothing to Arsenal. So can then start a bidding war and go to the highest bidder. Surely he has got to be the most mercenary greedy footballer of all time. Glad we backed out. Wonder if he will get the same media pundit witch hunt that Sterling got?

We built all our success on players coming to us for daft money. Turn it in

One thing is for sure, if he does sign for them. He is going to be fucking hated by our fans for stringing us along. My lad thought he was a **** at Wembley slapping his badge in front of our fans and it looks like he was right

I agree with the sentiment, but 99.9% won’t give to fucks and will go to whoever pays the most money, the romantic notion of players playing for less is dying a death it’s all about money now..
It is about money, whether or not we have been right in this case only time will tell but in general I don't think it does any harm to publicise the fact that we are prepared to walk away form deals we consider overpriced or people try and renegotiate.

We're going around in circles and it seems like you're missing my point.

I don't blame City for walking away when Sanchez changed his demands on a previously agreed deal. I've never said that I had a problem with that.

Where some blame can possible lie is the fact that we overplayed our hand in trying to force Arsenal into a reduced fee. The noises that we were happy to wait until the summer allowed United to jump in and offer more lucrative terms. If we would have bid £30 million at the start of the window then there is a good chance that we would have got Sanchez for the agreed terms.

That is the point I made and it looks like on two occasions players have slipped from our grasp to go to another side on better terms at the last minute.
If Sanchez had held his end of the bargain up(as he should have because he had agreed terms) then City could afford to lowball Arsenal. The whole point is that Sanchez has decided to try and play off City with United to force City to increase terms while still hoping that City would cave in, thereby giving Sanchez the best of both worlds. City quite rightly, have refused to have a gun held to their heads by refusing to pay more money, thereby calling his bluff and leaving him with a decision to make and now apparently fucking him off altogether. Well done City for standing firm and sending out the message to any smartarse in the future that we won't be fucked about.

Its the players agent. And the agent is obliged to do what's best for his client, not what's best for his own pocket. When an agent makes more money with the fee he gets from the club than the money he gets as "tax" from the player it becomes a problem I think.
I agree the money Agents pull out of the game is crazy....The £5mill Sanchez agent is asking for is peanuts compared to some deals...Pogba for example if we are to believe the figures £20mill ludicrous
