Alexis Sanchez

Yep fair comparison and all those contributed massively for us. Point was mainly about sterling I feel if puts those stats like last season in every season happy to rested he wont be going anywhere. Think Dzeko had enough of being the bench man in the last 2 seasons at city and you can understand why he eventually wanted to leave.

Yeah, I just feel it's possible that, with the level of competition going up, not just from signings but also from the academy, we may see more turnover of 'big' players in the future.

All this speculation stems from a Chilean reporter who isn't 100% credible. I doubt very much Alexis will move anywhere until after the tournament.

Have any reliable itk's called this transfer on here??

So you honestly don't think Bale knew if he didn't perform someone would take his place and conversely when Isco and Morata for example did get in they thought they had a point to prove.

I disagree. When Aguero was injured in the past and Kelechi came in Sergio would know he is going straight back in. And Kelechi probably knew that no matter what he did that was the case.

Do you not think Aguero's work rate went up when Jesus came in?
Yeah it does make a difference but they're the type of player who self motivate. Look how obsessive Ronaldo is. It wouldn't matter if he had Bale breathing down his neck or if he had Danny Tiatto. His performance wouldn't dip.

I'm all for competition, but I just don't think we necessarily need to have 8 or 9 players expecting to play every week fighting for 4-5 positions. I just think it stops players from building momentum.

Look at the difference in Sane at the end of the season to the one we saw in November/December. Look how much better Sanchez is now he's the figure head at Arsenal to when he was rotated at Barcelona.

Then look at what Bayern have done with Gotze and Sanches. Totally pointless. Why bring in these players if you are going to block their route to first team football in important and meaningful matches.

First of all, Asensio is a product of Mallorca's academy. Secondly, for players like Sane and Jesus to become top class, they need the likes of Sanchez who will improve them. They'll learn. We don't need squad players like Nolito and Navas. We need top class players who can make a contribution.
No, to become top class they need to play in important matches, with regularity.

Front line of Sane, Aguero, Sterling, Jesus, Nolito, Navas was clearly proven to be not deep enough for us on multiple occasions last year. Aguero picking red card, Jesus injury exposed how toothless we were on losing one or two key players. Take Navas and Nolito out next year and we really need someone to fill that hole and Alexis fits in well.

If we intend to really go for titles in all competitions we would have games coming up two every week on a regular basis. Either we do not get Alexis and give up on League Cup like last year by fielding all youngsters to focus on Champions league or we get a top player and give all competitions a go.

Even after giving up on League Cup, Pep had to compromise on the side he fielded against Stoke City in PL because of schedule and we ended up with a draw, this is when we really did not go deep into CL and to some extent because of that we made it to FA semi-finals playing twice a week. If we had CL games too Pep would have had a real problem finding fresh players for all competitions. We saw what happened to rags with injuries playing in Europa and they ended up sixth prioritizing Europa - we would have a similar load if we go deep in all competitions and this squad needs reinforcements.

We should be going hard for Alexis urgently, it is not a luxury but an absolute need for us to compete on multiple fronts.

Sterling, Sané & Jesus are the long term future of the club - as Pep said himself.

Aguero & Sanchez are for the here and now, they'll be around for 2 or 3 seasons, and then they'll be off.

In the meantime the kids have room to grow into world class players, the club isn't dependent on 20 year olds being world class 60 games a season, and they have 2 incredible forwards to learn off.

Guardiola is going to juggle the 5 of them, it'll be a bit tricky, some ego's might get bruised every now and then but as long as he keeps it fair and we win things, it'll work.

Spot on.

It certainly helped. Having top players for each position ups every players level. Look at the contributions squad players such as Asensio made. You need top options to win trophies.
I get that, but they didn't pay 50m for him did they. Therefore, it's fair to say he has a different expectation to the likes of Sterling, Sane and Jesus, and he hadn't just come off a season of being pretty much an undisputed first team regular at Real.
