Have you been living under a rock this window???
Paulinho has just gone for £40m
Real Madrid spent the same on a kid with 1 senior appearance
Lukaku cost United £90m
Neymar cost PSG £200m
Mbappé likely to cost just as much
£90m bids being rejected for Coutinho and Dembélé
Walker and Mendy cost £50m a piece
Sigurdsson will cost £50m

Jesus Christ even Michael Keane cost £30m, and you think we'd be stupid to spend more than that on arguably the best player in the league?? (certainly the best player in the league who is also on the market)

No rocks mate. Just cause I don't happen to agree with the crazy prizes being paid doesn't mean I don't know what's going on. Also, don't agree he's the best player in the league. We already have several better than him.

yep, an absolute bona fide star is not worth anything like £30m. In fact, I say let's forget this guy is a proven winner wherever he goes, let's offer ten bob and tell them that we don't like "criticism".

YaYa - take a bow. Truly, you have saved us a fortune.

What has he won at Arse given that he is a boan fida winner? I'll ignore the sarcasm as it's you.

So we should just sit back and watch everyone else pay "crazy fees" while also watching them leave us behind. Hmmmm.

Not really. We are already title favourites, United are further off. United had to replace goals they lost with Ibra, we'd be adding them. Add to that Arsenal (with Sanchez particularly) are much more of a title threat than Everton.

We were title favourites last season. Doesn't mean anything. Anyway, I don't have any control over what City want to pay for players (thank God some would say), just expressing my opinion on these crazy prices.

Yep. Coutinho situation turned sour when he thrown his toys out. Liverpool had the no sale under any circumstance, now they are willing to accept the right amount (or so it seems)

Absolutely. If Arsenal think that he'll stay professional and work hard for the club if they keep him then that's exactly what they'll do, unless someone comes in with a silly offer. If, however, Alexis starts putting up a real fuss (transfer request, not showing up to training, speaking publicly to tabloids without the club's permission, etc) then they'll quickly become receptive to the idea of selling him for a reasonable price. It's all about the player now and how willing he is to force a move. The player has an enormous amount of power, but that means nothing if he's not prepared to use it.

Who exactly is going to leave us behind with the squad that we currently have? I would suggest that others might feel the need to spend crazy money to avoid being left behind by us.

Spot on. There are always ways to achieve value.

Can't wait till he signs. Not purchased my shirt for this season yet, been waiting for Sanchez to sign so I can get it with his name on the back lol.

I said he was a proven winner wherever he goes:
Won the league in Chile
Won the league in Argentina
Won the league in Spain
2 Copa Americas with Chile
Cups in Spain and Chile plus 2 FA cups in England.

The guy's a loser. Twenty quid tops.

I agree I think £60m is an unbelievable offer for a player aged 29 in the final year of his contract. Where do these figures come from?

Get your point but honestly, what would he be worth in 3 weeks time then, on a new 4yr contract in this crazy market?
"TransferMarkt" has these market values (€): Mbappe 35, Sanchez 65, Ronaldo 100, Messi 120. (per June 2017)

Maybe the strategy wouldn't be too bad starting on a realistic level and avoiding an instant "No" - which wouldn't be helpful for further negotiations.

Didn't TH say some week ago there are 150m still possible?
75 for Sanchez and VVD each. Wasted money? Who knows.

If so then its ridiculous, we scored 3 in each of our last 3 pre season games, and 2 yesterday, 11 goals in 4 games, if (yes I know pre season + 1 league game), we keep that ratio up, its 104 goals in a league season, if that is in their "heads" they need to grow a pair, however its not in their heads, they've just started back so aren't sharp yet.

In reality, its in the heads of idiots on here, who just want a new shiny striker, regardless of the actual firepower we already possess.

Personally I'm not even slightly worried at this point after 1 game, and anyone who is, isn't being rational, or is simply worrying about nothing, just because united scored 4 at home against a particularly shite WHU.

I think your missing the point of a new striker if we have an injury to either Kun or Jesus we dont have an actual recognized striker left to play you did see the bench on Saturday and what it was missing didn't you?

I totally agree, Kalechi and Nolito have gone from last seasons squad, we need at least one new proven striker.

Fair enough. Personally don't think we'll get him. Either way the future is bright.

transfermarkt also has Bony (£16m) and Mangala (£14m) as more valuable than Benjamin Mendy (£11m) and Ander Herrera as valuable as Gabriel Jesus (£27m). It's not accurate at all.

that's a lot of winning ;)

Always thought this would happen. Not seen anything to suggest it won't now. The Tevez replacement we've needed for a few years now...
