Alexis Sanchez

I wonder how much of it is (like the dippers) due to believing in their own hype. They are part of the old Sky 4, fawned over by the media, and feted as a giant of the game. The old 'Who wouldn't want to play for us, we've won the league 11 times' mentality runs deep in these cnuts. Personally I think they simply fail to grasp the point that modern day footballers ain't that interested in what teams have won in the past, but rather what they're likely to win in the future. They want to jump into a balloon basket with a roaring flame going and a blue sky destination, not one with a fucking great hole in it plummeting towards an electricity pylon

More poetry :)

Daily (deluded) Cannon.

However, the same could surely be said of Alexis Sanchez, who scored 30 and assisted 19 for Arsenal in 2016/17. If City want their target badly enough, I feel they will have to make sacrifices, because otherwise the Gunners have very little incentive to sell.

- Will leave for free next year, lose out on 50mil +
- Spend the season (most probably) performing below par
- Division between him and the fans

Sanchez is all but gone. We'll probably cave in around the £60M-£65M mark. Ox will go to Liverpool, probably around the £35M mark. We'll make over £100M+ in the space of a day, wont buy any real replacements, be at a net profit of £60M for the transfer window, & we'll compete with Everton for 6th.

Just my thoughts. Thanks for your straight view.

The day when a new hungry manager arrives at your club will be very interesting.
Before that you can only hope not too much damage is done.

I suspect that was the reason for him leaving the training camp for a day.
Think that was set for today, which has hardly started yet over there, so we probably have until this evening to agree a deal then he could do his medical late afternoon / evening in Chile. For an announcement tomorrow morning.

It's really annoying me that the Times, M.E.N., Guardian and Telegraph are still trying to say Sterling is being used as a make-weight, and not only that, but it's been a surprise to him, as if we're blindsiding him. Not to mention they're all trying to drum up Aguero drama again.

Sadly the Sterling stories originated from his agent (who happens to be Ox's agent too). My guess is that Arsenal have said to Ward "we want Sterling in the Sanchez deal and City are open to a player exchange". He's smelt an unexpected payday and has chanced his arm to see if City would go for it. City have obviously laughed him out of town.

Will be contract renewal time for Raz come the end of this season.

Arsenal fans on Twitter.

No Sergio, no Sanchez.(now Sterling isn't going to Arsenal)

Ha!

These agents are dangerous greedy bastards.

You lot really need to do something about it.

We are experts at this, having had several decades of Peter Swales & the longer it goes on, the more difficult it is to fix.

It took us two relegations & several near bankruptcy incidents to undo the work of PJS. We should have driven the **** out, 20 years earlier.

To be fair, I think Arsenal fans are doing as much as they can possibly do in terms of trying to effect some kind of change at the club. Short of a multi-billionaire benefactor amongst their support, they can't really do anything more. Their protests have been highly vocal and visual - where they might be missing a trick is that they concentrate too much on Wenger and personally if I was a Gooner I'd be throwing a lot of flak in Kroenke's direction too.

City fans were pissed off with Swales for years but as there was no-one around who made a serious offer for the club, the protests were doomed to failure. It was only when Francis Lee came along that things changed. The daft thing at Arsenal is that they already have Usmanov on the board but there seems to be a pact between Kroenke and the other shareholders preventing Usmanov from mounting a bid for control of the club.

I agree there! Swales was a megalomaniac and he was very good at smokescreens, promises and out and out bullshit. That documentary they did on the club was frightening if you watch it it showed what a joke our club had become. Every pre season there was a whole list of superstars we were going to buy that never materialised. Incredible to think that little portacabin was the club shop and I don't think we owned that!

The warning signs are there for Arsenal although financially and in terms of stability they are much healthier than we were under Swales.

Can't blame Ward for getting assurances of how much the club values Sterling to be honest, we are signing a £60m+ player who will directly compete with him.

Arsenal hoping a rival offer will bump up the price.
Both PSG and the rags are looking much stronger than at the start of the transfer window.
Let's hope his desire to work with Pep again is more than Alves'.
Both clubs would love to steal him from us or drive our price up.
It's getting close, steady nerve needed.
You know when they quote Utd it's all but done!

If only I thought his intention was to get assurances about Raz. I think he genuinely fancied getting a pay day. He more or less put the ball in City's court by telling the press that Raz would be open to the move and that City had actually already put him on the table. I bet he didn't even speak to the player about it!

SSN this morning back tracking and finally confirming City's position from the start that Sterling is staying put. However David Ornstein (Arsenal insider) states on BBC at 11 30am that Arsenal are still asking for a player (unspecified). Ornstein doing his best to mask the shambles at the Emirates. 36 hours to go and we can leave the transfer forum.
