Alexis Sanchez

I said "Personal agreements with the second category of players has historically been easy as fuck, it's only the clubs we had to negotiate with". See the bold parts. Am I wrong there? We didn't have an extended saga to come to a personal agreement with KdB, it's Wolfsburg that we had problems dealing with. That's clearly not the case with Sanchez. We're having problems with the player contract (signing on fee and wages), agent fee and the money that Arsenal are demanding. Refine your comprehension skills or memory, whichever is lacking.

An an aside, what's with the undercurrent of sarcasm and smugness? Unless you think I'm retarded, take it easy. But if you do, then carry on.

No sarcasm or smugness, just a disbelief at how easily fans draw conclusions from nothing substantial (not aiming that at you)

We and I mean all on here (including you)have no idea what the situation is with Sanchez and or his agent and most are just simply speculating/flapping on what the raggy press have said (and, do you really believe they are ITK?)

Laughable how he’s transformed from an ambitious Pep disciple, who will surely clinch us the quadruple, into a grasping, menopausal whore, grafted from Ryan Giggs’s scrotum ...and all on the basis of rumours.

This thread has become red caf, Twitter, mumsnet and wetpussy.com, all rolled into one.

Ah well, as I reach for the Samaritans’ number and a jar of paracetamol, I’ll console myself with one thought: “we didn’t want him anyway”.

Unless, that is....unless....
Maybe the greatest post ever sir !

Good thing with getting Sanchez would be he will be fresh as a daisy come beginning of next season with no World Cup while the majority of our players would of played a lot of games.

What's your opinion on this. What do you think we're doing wrong?
I really don't know enough about what's going on inside the club, but looking from the outside in i think perhaps we are over-estimating the players that Pep wants desire to play for him again. Given the state united are in and the good chance there will be managerial change there again you would think even with the much higher money they are talking about, it would be a tough sell

Your second sentence reflects how I've felt about this from day one.

Your first sentence however I totally disagree with. There is no way we can guarantee to sign every transfer target and with our current squad we are not exactly desperate for a 29 year old looking for a major payday and a few medals. If he wants to come fine, if he wants to go elsewhere so be it. We've passed the point where we needed to be begging players to come by offering outlandish wages, the wheel has come full circle, that's the rags tactic now.
Sanchez is not really "an every transfer target" type guy though this is someone Pep wanted from day one. If David Luiz comes on the market and mourinho wants him do you see City being able to jump in on him?

Im a bit confused. Im not that fussed if he signs or not but why would city let a world class player slip through their fingers because they won't pay more than 20 million, but they'll pay 42 million for mangala who in my eyes is a fuckin pudding.

At 29years old...30 next Birthday, this likely is his/his agents last big payday at top level. I completely understand if this comes down to money. Even at 30mil for Arsenal and 15mil in fees for Sanchez/agent, we would still be getting a world class forward that can play all across the front line for an absolute bargain. I think we playing a game of russian roulette over this deal and I hope this doesnt backfire.

We needed a CB, Mangala was young and ticked all the boxes. It didn't work out, that happens with transfers.
Sanchez is all speculation, you, me and everyone on here has no clue what is going on in the background, so stop getting stressed FFS

Re read my first sentence. Couldn't give a fook either way. Only care about the Liverpool game today. Then the next one. I think our squad is just fine. As for the mangala thing. I'm just a layman and I can tell that he can't play for toffee.

That's just not true. City haven't pursued a player like we've pursued Alexis almost ever.

We bid for him when he left Udinese, we bid for him when he left Barcelona and we're bidding for him again. We went for him in the summer and again are going back for him in January and after that will go for him next summer if possible aswell.

Alexis turned down PSG and Bayern to play for us. He'll be a City player one way or another despite the regular flapping and hedging on here.

For me it seems to be being teed up by the media for a City backed down to his agent and wage demands and are the first team to pay a player £350,000 a week etc

Maybe, just maybe, when we bought Mangala we didn't actually think we were buying a 'pudding'; instead, we thought he was a defender with certain qualities and attributes that would help us reach the next level?
