Klopp says he did not think we would have pulled out over money and that there are two teams in Manchester.

As any team with the money would go for Sanchez.

That was about it,

Made little sense. As usual.
he's right we pulled out because dirty sanchez stabbed us in the back..

Basically that City wouldn't pull out of a deal.for Sanchez because of money.

So that kills two birds with one stone, we will spend anything but on this occasion, Utd's status has outdone us.

Just like Van Dijk & Liverpool.
Ah i see,it's the draw of the history clubs that are getting those 2 players and not the money, what a twat

Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal all backing each other up.
Wow, I wonder if this has ever happened before, seeing as they all 'hate' each other !

How weird is that ? It's not as if they have all been in cahoots since the start of the Premier League, or in fact for longer than anyone here has been alive.

100%

I know we're pleased not to be made mugs of - but unfortunately there are teams that are happy to be.
What do those in the know now think our transfer strategy is, given that players will always have greedy agents and want the best pay day? Or is this just a one off due to the circumstances and we will spend as big as our rivals in future?
pep only wants players that are dying to play for him and us 100% commitment to us regardless of if they are offered more money,he won't lose any sleep over sanchez as he has stabbed him for money

I really hope that klopp doesn' mean what maybe a few of us are thinking. It would fit in with the conspiracy theories concerning Arsenal, Liverpool and utd. I forget if Chelsea were also having the cosy meal in (was it) New York. And I can see how it would create headlines.

They've all got something in common.

They are all owned by Sugar Daddy American Billionaires.

But don't tell their fans.

They don't like hearing the truth.

The way he did not want to say whatever he 'knew' suggests it was more than the usual narrative as him just saying Sanchez was greedy or that we refused to match his demands because of that is not news or controversial.

The two teams in Manchester part was obviously key.

A snippet of Klopp ‘s statement

"Now I could really create headlines here, but I won't," Klopp said with a smile when asked about the Chile international at his news conference on Friday.

"It's not my business, not my cup of tea; we had our big transfers and everyone could say whatever they wanted.

"I've nothing to say about the numbers [involved in the deal], but I can't imagine City leave the race because of money.

"Maybe it's because there are two opportunities in Manchester and maybe he thinks to go to one or the other, and then one maybe thinks, 'I don't want him [Sanchez] anymore'. It's not about money.

Not sure why Klopp is sticking his fucking nose into this now , together with the senile French twat , and sticking up for Mourinho . Could it be that they are clearly seriously pissed at City because of the threat we bring to their PL top 4 ambitions ?

I thought Dippers and Rags hated each other, and yet the manager of their " bitterest enemies " is supporting the actions of Mourinho ?? I can only presume that Pep upset the" gangenpress kid " during his time at Bayern, and flush with his win over us last week decides to stick his oar in .

It is only going to intensify if all goes to plan and we win the PL together with a couple of cups. Brilliant that they are hurting so much.[/QUOTE]

Don't know where I got the idea Klopp came out on our side by saying he did not believe City would have pulled out merely because of money. Implying there are other reasons. I could be wrong.

I read is as Klopp meaning he pulled out simply because one Manchester (trafford) team just threw ludicrous amounts of money at AS despite agreeing with us first on purely football terms. I'm sure Klopp respects Pep more than Mourinhio due to playing style principles. Think people have read it wrong if thinking he's having a pop at us. I may be wrong though, but certainly how I understood it.

The key to what Klopp said is him saying any club with money would buy Sanchez. That he was intersted but are not in it and he is going to United.

So he does not think City pulled out just because of money.

The fact that both teams in Manchester were in for him meant one club decided they no longer wanted him.

You could interpret that a dozen ways because English is not his first language.

My take is - Liverpool would like him, but could not match United and he is set on going there.

City pulled out not because we could not afford him but because he flirted with the opposition across town so we said bye bye.

Which is what happened by the looks of it - though not because it was United - but because it was anybody and Pep wanted someone 100% committed to City .

But not sure why Klopp would back off from clarifying that. Seems uncontentious and a reasonable interpretation.

Why are people taking from this comment that Klopp is defending the rags? We over thinking this by a long way....He just thinks we could afford to do the deal if we wanted too! You can also take his comments as saying he thinks once Sanchez/agent started the bidding war with the rags, we pulled out because we felt he was no longer fully committed to signing for Pep, so that WE moved on...(one maybe thinks "I dont want him(Sanchez anymore). I dont see any conspiracy

spot on mate...dont think he was having a dig at us!

Made a lot of sense, he said clearly there are two teams in Manchester (rivals) when a player mentions the other is a possibility the other pulls out, clearly he was saying it was a lack of respect by Sanchez to even mention the rags.

As you see I agree that is what I think he meant.

But he seemed to want not to say it as it would cause headlines or something. Yet the media (eg Ashton in the Sun today) said much the same in his surprisingly accurate and pro City article today headed TURNCOAT - in big letters - subheaded Sanchez has done the dirty on Pep.

No interpretation needed there!
