The tarquins are FAR from poor. Stan Kroenke is worth 7.4 billion USD. His wife is a Walmart heiress and richer than him!

Arsenal has plenty of dosh! Kroenke just won't spend it to make the club better. That is his m.o. He merely takes the proceeds from his American hockey, basketball and football (NFL) teams and doesn't re-invest in them to make them better. He doesn't care if they are winners. He cares about the money in his pocket.

Gooners will end up unhappy as long as he is their principle owner.
Not sure if you're aware but we now have FFP so your Walmart money doesn't count towards the wealth of your club.

But that doesn’t explain the transfer fee? Granted the wage might turn his head but then why the need to pay arsenal more than they were accepting off us? Again especially given Wengers comment that he seems happier taking their money than ours.

Didn’t Arsenal refuse our £20m offer, demanding £35m which is effectively what United have paid?

Becasue we're too far away to be rivals.

The filth are in the mix for the next 3 CL places. They had to pay £10m more to get the Arse to go for it.

Well it is all speculation I suppose. If the rags didn’t offer £35m would our £20m been acceped? Agreed somewhere in the middle.

The player swap though with Mkhitaryan will serve their purpose as it allow them to mask a certain amount.

Maybe I’m being naive, but when I saw Klopp’s interview I interpreted it as meaning that City haven’t dropped out because we couldn’t afford the deal (we clearly could if we wanted to), but that for whatever reason (squad stability, age, value for money) we decided not to push for it. I didn’t see it as a dig personally.

Well he has previous for complaining about City's spending & ffp, says we have not pulled out of this because of money & follows it directly with, “Alexis Sanchez makes sense for each team in the world because he's a fantastic player, so bring him in whenever"

I don't see how it's anything other than a dig, that we would have signed him but he's ditched us.

Otherwise he is saying we were wrong to pull out.

Not really seeing that. If he says it makes sense for every team in the world then surely he was in for him.

Well they can't afford it, or they would be, seems to be the answer to that one 'we have had our big transfer' he said.

Which fits right in with him suggesting City didn't pull out for money reasons.

Incidentally, totally off topic, he says several Liverpool players have been ill.

Silva was last weekend, now several scouse players; I said at the time, I recon that's why Stones & Fernandinho played like zombies, but we haven't mentioned it as Pep doesn't do excuses.

I think he is saying in his opinion we were wrong to pull out, nothing wrong with that. He was complimentary last weekend and respects Pep, he's entitled to his view.
