All these players hating Manchester

Anyone else find it odd that it's only City players that don't like Manchester yet them from down the road seem to like it just fine? One for the conspiracy theorists I think.

Apparently you/we don't live well in Manchester.

Our ex-Brazilian star has just reopened the can of worms. Expect another 24 hours of Manchester bashing.

Obvioulsy the industrial city of Milan is paradise. Hot in the Summer, wet in Autumn, and freezing in winter.

Former Manchester City striker Robinho has stuck the knife into the club and confessed he sympathises with Mario Balotelli's plight.

Balotelli has confessed that, although he is happy with the playing side of things at Eastlands, he has struggled to adapt to life in the north west.

Robinho also failed to find his feet in Manchester after making a big-money move from Real Madrid back in 2008.

The Brazilian was initially loaned to Santos back in his homeland before making a permanent switch to AC Milan in 2010.

Balotelli moved the other way, signing on at City from Inter Milan at the start of the 2010-2011 campaign.

He was sent off twice last season and was involved in a few controversial incidents but did show glimpses of his undoubted talent with 10 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Boss Roberto Mancini is desperate for the Italian international hit-man to settle, as he needs a full squad for the club's assault on silverware this season and the news of Balotelli's unhappiness will have left him pondering the youngster's future.

Robinho has sided with the former Lumezzane star and painted a bleak picture of life in Manchester.

"It doesn't surprise me," he said. "He's not the first one to have difficulty in that city. I don't know if he will decide to stay or go.

"But I admit that I understand him. You don't live well in Manchester."

I can think of many places I would hate having to live.

I can't think of one though if I was being paid £150k a week

Just to play Devils Advocate, if you could get paid £150k a week in 20 different cities, i'm sure you'd have a preference.

I'd like to know why Manchester seems to be getting a bit of a hard time from a number of players at both clubs.

I'd have thought this city caters for all types and classes.

They need to all STFU and get on with it. They don't realise how lucky they are. How can you complain about where you live when you earn £150k+ a week and retire to your luxury mansion or penthouse apartment at the end of each day.

Also, if you were going to take a job abroad you'd find out a bit about the city, maybe visit first. I know I would.

All this complaining just makes me realise even more what a bunch of spoilt tarts some of these footballers really are...

United probably have a strict no speaking to the press in any kind of derogatory manner about the club or the city policy. If that rule is broken it can possibly effects all future transfers to the club because the club or the city has a bad name. Severe fines are probably in place there to stop this happening and we all know what Fergie is like.

At City we put our arms round the players and the media and all sorts of shit is said and we get talked of a treated like fucking shit. There's probably no sanctions on place and do we ever challenge the media on the bullshit? I dunno, if we have it hasn't made a fucking bit of difference!

Shit sticks. Doesn't matter if quotes are exaggerated or sensationalised, the quotes are still said and reported. Then people read or hear them and that sort of shit sticks forever. "I would never go back to Manchester after I leave there!" "Manchester is not to my taste!" will always be remembered and if not they will be regurgitated. Like Manchester has a reputation for being a rainy city, yet it's no more rainy than dozens of other cities in Britain, it's just some fable that's stuck over time. I guarantee that across the country the "Manchester oh has two restaurants" line will be said for years.

To be fair they've got a point. Give me 150K a week and then stick me in Manchester. One year later, offer me Barcelona, Sevilla, Madrid, Rome, Amsterdam, Porto, Lisbon or 20 other cities and watch me fucking fly!

Robinho i can understand. Hot spanish speaking country, to a hard hostile footballing environment. I don't think he'd ever have settled.

Balotelli, young and misses home (he did say it was his hometown he missed and not milan)

But there's one detail i really don't get....

If Carlos Tevez dislikes Manchester so much, why then when leaving Manchester United did he CHOOSE to stay in Manchester with Manchester City?

Industrialised Manchester lacks the 'charisma' of places such as Madrid , Milan and Barcelona ..... and all these players know that before they even come here , so what are they expecting ?

Of course our weather isn't gonna match up to that found in places close to the equator , you'd hardly expect it too ......

Robinho is constantly griping , but when push comes to shove he spent most of his time on Citys bench for two reasons .... injuries , and lack of consistency ..... and for the second part he can only blame himself.

A great player could perform anywhere ..... i hardly see Ronaldo complaining about Manchester because he DID perform consistently ...... and i don't recall Cantona moaning about it much either , or criticisng Leeds!

Come to that i don't see David Silva or Pablo Zabaleta kickin' up a fuss about it either ...... because both are more than prepared to embrace life here , and not to expect IT to embace them without any effort on their part!

1/ Balotelli did not say he was "unhappy" just that he feels homesick. Between the ages of 22 and 24 I lived away on cruise ships for 18 months, coming back just one time for a period of 8 weeks. By the end it was really getting me down. It is only natural that he's homesick, but he'll push through it.

2/ Haven't Tevez's circumstances have changed since he signed for City? His lady has taken his kids back to Argentina.
