anyway gooner i agree with the dunne coment though any chance you fancy taking ade and kolo back you proper bent us over and greased us up with them deals
Kolo can't jump any more which is a bit of a drawback for a CB. Adebayor's a massively talented player who simply can't be arsed to do the graft, we got a season out of him he looked like he gave up after about 8 games for you.

Kolo agree. Adebayor was great, alot of problems last season 2 red's(The v you lot stopped him when he was unstoppable) africa gun attack. 14 in 26, great record.

Re: Ireland On HisWay

Another player I feel a connection with on his way out. When we keep signing all these new players and with such a high turnover of players it is becoming increasingly hard to really feel an affinity with our squad. Some endear themselves fairly quickly but it is nice to have a few stalwarts who have been here for years, especially academy lads.

I was working at Villa tonight, I was told by a member of staff that the Milner deal is done, approx fee of £17 mil + Ireland.

If true that would be one of the worst ever pieces of business we've ever done.

Agreed. It makes the Lescott deal look good.

Re: Ireland On HisWay

Its a shame, but with Tevez in the team (which he always will be when fit), Ireland's chances are going to be limited. I always said that Ireland had the capability to play in a more reserved, deepere central role (a la Cesc) but it seems that whenever he has played in this position, hes struggled to make a positive impact on the team. He clearly loves the free-role, but Tevez is far too good/important for him to play in such a way. I wish him all the best, but im very happy with the potential signing of Milner - his passing has been overlooked by a lot of people on here. A far more mobile and infinite upgrade on Barry, i'll stick my neck out and say he'll go very close to being our player of the season.

Re: Ireland On HisWay

If we take away the 1 outstanding season he's had for us and concentrate on the 4 average seasons, £15-£18m + Ireland in exchange for Milner is a fair deal. £12-£15m + Ireland...... I'd feel like we had them over!!!

Consider this; 2 years ago when Ireland was being lined up for a transfer to Sunderland, how much were we gonna get for him....... £2-£3m? Ireland on his day would wipe the floor with Milner, but alas his day doesnt come often enough.

Villa tried to use their transfer demands for Milner to fund their transfers for the coming season, but with our already strong squad and a better class of player now seeing us as a viable career option, I think the protracted acquisitions of Milner and Balotelli is showing the world that we have no need to be held to ransom any longer.

Judging by the Villa fans and O'Neil's recent reactions, they need to sell Milner more than we need to buy him. Villa need to build or they will fall behind ans without the Milner sale they cannot strengthen..... It's as simple as that.

I'll stick my neck out and say he wont. No way can he thread balls through like Ireland. I'd rather us keep him and stump up the full price for Milner. Why fuck off a promising player because he had a poor season after his feinting when playing Fulham, surely we should be giving him another season?
He improved year after year then had a setback (could be manager changes) Fuck, we hardly have to get rid do we seeing as we're minted (can always play him in Carling cup/F.A cup and Europa games) Then base any decision over 2 years - he'll either sink or swim now.

Re: Ireland On HisWay

Surely lowly Villa wouldn't be the club for Ireland. After all there have been posters on here telling us that he was on his way to the Arse or the rags as these clubs would appreciate his quality?

Re: Ireland On HisWay

It'll be sad to see him go, followed them all through the academy and thought we were on to something with Robinho and SI two seasons back, but that faded and so did SI form.

People will be upset because Stevie's from that group of players that were coming through when we were shit. All touted as the future saviours of our club with SWP firmly at the helm of that group, at that time.

On the brighter side, it shows how far we've come. Remember when we sold SWP, the amount we got softened the blow but it still hurt. Now we're looking at another of Citys fine products departing to pastures new, only to replaced by an up and coming England regular who has a work rate to match Bellamy and Tevez, and a dynamo forward in Balotelli.

Like a few people have said now, we have to trust Mancios decision, and the players we have signed over pre-season have been pretty epic. Add to that Milner, Balo, and cohesion (because we do have to gel proper as a team), then we're on are way to something special.

Villa fans, if O'Neil can motivate SI when he needs to play out of position, your on to a winner. We couldn't do this over a fair few seasons and that's why he's likely heading your way. Looks like this might be the right move for both players.

Now what do I change my username to, hmmmmm.
