Allan Clarke on the current City team.

For all the talk about Dirty Leeds' greatness, it's a myth. They didn't win much at all: five trophies in seven seasons or, to put that into modern terms, as many as we won last year!
As much as i hate their fans the revie side was superb

I dont think I ever went to a game v them when I actually thought we would beat them

They were a machine who were mostly kept on a tight leach by revie but the year he gave them more freedom they were spellbinding

Really ready dirty though

I always thought of Clarke as the weakest link in that team.
Anyway, it's ridiculous to compare teams from different eras - and Leeds under Revie didn't actually win very much in comparison to City now.

Revie was and is nowhere near other managers and is a country mile behind Pep. now I don't mind leeds (I know it's unpopular) but for Clarkie to go full Aldridge is stupendously stupid of him.

That Lids side under Revie are not near the same level as Peps City sides. Just compare records. Clarke sounds a bitter, jealous old man.

Revie was a strange one. A few times I saw him at Leeds Station on a Sunday night catching the last train to London. I couldnt understand why .. unless going for the bingo. Never liked Leeds or Revie. Ellend Road was an awful place to go in those days because of their fans who were amongst the worst anywhere and where the example was set by the players on the pitch.

Clough called him out and his dirty Leeds team so I wouldnt be surprised by anything going on in the background.
