Almost Fell Asleep.

Not having a world cup doesn't make it a bad sport, it's a bad sport regardless of how many countries play it. Rugby is a million times the sport of Gridiron (it doesn't deserve to be called football!). And don't diss cricket, it's better than baseball. "World series" played by teams from North America only!?

How uneducated?!

Yesterday was truly shocking at times and it was indeed very very dull to watch.
BUT i'm not going to launch into a Mancini rant. I am going to wait, put the performance in some context at the end of the season and hope it was not a sign of things to come with the season fizzling out. Maybe it will be looked back on as a bad off day before we picked up and put some better performances against far better opposition to clinch 3rd, becuasue we will need to big time.

Not too extreme for you that.

Especially with todays Spuds result, a great 3 points and nothing more.

Of course it was. Absolutely fantastic weekend for us and every blue should be delighted. Except this is bluemoon...

Anyone else feel like we are one of the most boring teams? Jesus I have never before almost fell asleep watching City before but when we have 3 defensive midfielders in the game and sit on one point leads its hard to watch. I miss exciting fun football. Not this drab Italian style football where you try not to lose more than you do to win. Anyone else feel the same?

Boring?Really?

How about watching your own team keeping the ball in the corner of the pitch in the mistaken belief that by doing it they're going to stay up?
Or watching David fucking Pleat dancing across the Maine rd turf in those brown shoes....or getting bricked waiting for a coach ouitside the Britannia stadium and watching the Stoke fans in raptures-because despite getting relegated, they'd taken the "mighty" Manchester City with them? Now thats real excitement....

I could go on and on...

I'm loving being "bored" by Mancini.

You really don't know you're born mate.

Our possession football is brilliant to watch. The way we make keeping possession in tight spaces look so easy is something i'll never get bored of watching. Only problem seems to be when we score Mancini seems to change the tactics and instructs the team to sit on the lead and invite pressure. I suspect some of this tactics can be attributed to trying to conserve energy with our fixture pile up but if we can just learn to keep the tempo up we'd be fantastic to watch.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt!
I'm trying to be positive, I think we have problems but I guess the 3 points is the main thing at this point of the season. I also believe we play beter against stronger opposition so bearing in mind Wigan and Fulham are always low key games i'll give them the benefit of the doubt as to why they were both poor displays. We really need to step it up though against Spurs, Liverpol, Chelski and some of the others...
Maybe also Spurs conceeding late softened the blow too and of course the scum losing [getting battered] by the scousers always feels good!
It's going to be scary between now and the end of the season yet it shouldn't be but we are City so we should be used to it!

I get the comparisson to bleaker days but I think people are expecting more from the players we now have. Then we had poor players. no money so we go what we deserved. Now I think the expectations are sky high when we have Silva, Tevez, Balotteli et al.....that's the issue.....and they have a point....so even though league position, club finances are better the overall style of play somwhow seems incompatible with this new found position we find ourselves in.

Im not going to argue with you over what things are more boring than the other, and in hindsight(always 20/20) I definitely should have chosen better words for my original post.

After 24 hours and watching the game again I would say it was more frustrating than boring. There were many times in the first half we had the opportunity to shoot, but instead opted to try and get another pass in or dribble it into the goal. Second half, completely different story, we looked uninterested and like we just wanted the game to end. Now I realize the boys are probably tired and probably did want it to end and to rest up for the very busy schedule coming up. And with teams around us dropping points today, our 3 points are looking even better and im very happy with that. I guess yesterday I was getting worried about spuds breathing down our necks, but today has helped convince me that we should be ok if we stick to Mancini's game plan.

Had no idea I would ruffle so many feathers with the original post haha I was just posting my post game thoughts after a what I thought was a disappointing performance, on a message board.. sorry for my insults as I had been drinking and was acting childish, but hey lets just go beat Kiev. Cheers.

We will certainly feel the ride, maybe noit enjoy it though! We'll be cursing, cheering, dancing, swearing and more but come the end of the season let's just hope we get something...FFS we are owed it for our years of FA!
