Come off it mate. If we play like we did today all the time we would lose more games than we win.

We fluked a goal. They had a few shots on target, hit the woodwork and should have scored a couple in the last 5 minutes.

AND THAT WAS WIGAN, not Barcelona.

Being "tired" is no excuse. It was a dismal style of play, dismal performance and dismal tactics. We fluked the win, tactical genius it was not.

This is the point I was trying to get across. We have a really tough next 3 premier league games Chelsea, sunderland, liverpool and spurs. If we play anywhere near like we did today we are gunna get spanked. But hell we will probably just park the bus against 3 of those teams anyway.

The thing I find most depressing, is this.

Can anyone say they see us steadily improving? Mancini said at the beginning of the season it would take us a couple of months to gel and be playing at our best.

We it's now March, and for me we are no better than we were 1 year ago. Maybe worse.

Everyone seems to think next season we will be challenging for the title. Well unless there is some step-change improvement, next season will be no better than this one and we will be struggling for 4th again.

We are simply miles behind United, Arsenal and yes even Chelsea at the moment. And worse than Spurs too.

And yes, I do realise we are third, before any smart arse jumps in.

Jesus I have never before almost fell asleep watching City before but when we have 3 defensive midfielders in the game and sit on one point leads its hard to watch. I miss exciting fun football. Do you really think that if we hadn't scored that goal, we would have played the rest of the game out the same way? How do you know we wouldn't have ended up with Dzeko, Balo, Tevez and Silva on for the last 20 min. going all out to get a goal? I don't care that we were defensive, we won and that's the name of the game. It's not rocket science to understand that when we are passing the ball around, sideways and backwards, that we are trying to get the opposition to loose their shape and therefore create an opening. We can't just run into 11 defenders and expect to score.

I agree.Football is a results game. How we get the win is not important , whats important is that we win. We might be getting battered with the opposition having 85% of the possession , but we might nick a goal and win. At the end of a day a win is all that matters , not how we achieve it.

I know I was being negative, I just felt before the game that we could get on good form after the fulham game, and we didnt do what I thought. Happy with the 3 points and heres to getting a win at Kiev.

Until we don't win. Then it becomes about the good overall performance, and the chances, and having no luck etc.
