I don't see Sterling returning. We are good for attacking players for this season.

Realistically his replacement for any games where the viking is injured will be reverting to the false 9, and I think we will see other players flourish when we do so.

To think we can go into this season not buying anyone while the rivals strengthen and thinking we can just do what we’ve been doing is crazy and it will catch us out because Haaland or Rodri get injured and we are done .

Santiago Gimenez is the perfect replacement.

It won't happen. Not in a million years.

City won't sign a striker that can play number 9 only. If we do sign someone, it will be a player that can play not just as a striker, but also as a false 9.

The reason Alvarez has left is because he knows that he can only do a job for us in the striker position and his opportunities would have been limited this season with Haaland ahead of him.

It isn't Alvarez' fault as he is not a number 10 or an advanced midfielder, but the way we used him in a midfield 3 behind Haaland last season massively hindered us for a lot of the season.

Had we carried on playing Alvarez behind Haaland until the end of the season, we wouldn't have been premier league champions.

By taking Alvarez out of this position, it literally saved our season.

Pep loves versatility. If we sign 1 or 2 more, they have to be versatile to get enough game time.
