Am I the only one that LIKES Santa cruz???

I'm not Hughes' greatest fan, but that has nothing to do with me liking Santa. I was hoping he would come when first linked with us, but Hughes got him and then he chose to extend his contract when linked with us again!

I remember rating him quite highly and some people posted stats, not taking into account his adaptation to the Bundesliga, then injury and having to fight for a place, etc.

I've always liked the fella and to those who say who's going to cross the ball? Well, all the players mentioned can cross, it's just that there's been nobody of note to cross to!!

That's the main point, I really don't like him, but in fairness the reason we don't cross the ball is we suck in the air! With him upfront I'm sure we will play a more route one style, because we are able to, I'm not worried about out abilty to service him.

I think he will prove to be a good signing, my only concern is who's gonna put the ball on his head? Remember to two goals he scored at COMS last season? Quality crosses into the box and he got in front of the defence and buried the headers.

Elano - probably won't play week in week out
SWP - not great at crossing the ball
Rob - not likely to 'cross' the ball
Petrov - great crossing ability but probably won't play much
Barry and SI = won't be bombing up and down the wing to enable crosses

Bridge ? Zabaletta ? Or has the concept of fullbacks overlapping been discarded?

Yea Bridge and Zab can both whip a decent cross in. I'm guessing that might be the plan.

Roque is exactly the type of player we need although I'm not sure he's good enough at it to be considered a great signing. He's a good outlet for us to boot the ball up to and relieve us of a bit of pressure when needed. Along with Barry he provides us with a bit mroe physical presence which will hopefully help us to get the best out of Robbie, Superman and SWP/Tevez.

His fitness is my only concern, a bit overpriced but its not my money.

He has shown his ability to score, when fit he will give us options, that we dont have now.

I think his personality will fit in well at City, hard worker, and never seems to cause any trouble.
