Yeah to be honest who are you to slag me or anyone else off for not going last night you know who you are, city was, is and will always be a working mans club. And I am sick to the back teeth of fans slagging off other fans for not going.

If you are lucky enough to go last night dont slag off the none attenders like myself. Times are hard and money is even tighter than ever just be greatfull you can afford it, some of the rubbish I am hearing beggers belief.

Here is a the situation I find myself in which is prob a very similar one to many, every month

Pay after tax £1500

Mortgage £670
Council tax £90
loans £180
food bill £200
fuel £60
gas/water/elec £120
direc debits £60

outgoings £1360

left £140 spare per month which is rock all so I go to one match a month 2 if am lucky , so just to put you in the picture , so please lets stop all this crap , and to be honest I prob am in a much better position than most

sorry but had to put some people back in real world about the state some fans are in financially

Fuck em mate. How gives a fuck what others think?

Those fans who bother about other fans are the biggest dickheads themselves imo. Each to their own and we all ahve our own way of love for city.

Fucking spot on. While we are at it, all this 'born in Manchester' shit is getting to me. I'm 48 and been a blue for nearly 40 years. Ok, I was a glory hunter, but you can't blame a 10 year old kid for that FFS.I never, ever switched, never considered it. Had a chat with an older fella than me in Mary Ds before the game the other week and he was saying the same.

Season ticket for me would be like chucking money down the drain. I have to travel abroad a lot with work. I go to games when I can and as a result, pay top dollar for it. With the girlfriend as well (also a Blue) I bet I end up spending as much as a ST holder in a year anyway.

What the f@ck does it matter. You either go or you dont. The last time I checked it is still a free country. People vote with their feet. I choose to go and so I went. End of.
I dont want to or need to know why people didnt go.
All this attendance eliteism is complete and utter bollox. Fulham had 91 there fair play to 'em. If the boot was on the other foot I wouldn't have gone down there. As it was it was 12.30 when I got home.

I never named anyone, never intended to name anyone or highlight any post for particular attention.

I have made a general point about some supporters and no doubt all of us know of someone who broadly matches the description I laid out.

There are people in every walk of life who see themselves as 'elite' followers or fans be that football or star trek etc.

You quite rightly make the point that I know 'jack shit' about you and that is why I have deliberately not 'quoted' anyone in my last post or referred to any previous post directly or indeed indirectly.

If anyone (and Im not suggesting you here) sees themselves in what I have said then thats that persons view NOT mine as I dont know that person.

I am truly sorry if you have been offended as I was making a general point.

I am pretty sure though that what I said reflects my own viewpoint accurately.

We are however allowed to disagree and of course I havent abused you in anything I have said.

CTWD (City Til WE Die)?

Fbloke seriously not offended I only drew that assumption as you chose to make the point following my posts - therefore I kind of made a connection.

I'm not wishing to be divisive but just sticking up for someone (Kiam) who I felt had a right to be p*ssed off at the differential in attendances. Of course their are serious reasons why people can't go but I don't believe those reasons can apply to over 20 odd thousand (nearly 50%) of our average support.

There are those fans who chose not to go simply bveacsue they couldn't be bothered and because it wasn't a big game and for me they are not as passionate supporters as those that do.

There is also no doubt in my mind that there were people that went on Weds where money is equally tight but they did without other things to make sure they could go and to me they are more passionate fans.

absolute bollocks mate

when your young and single you can go to every game, when you get a family you have to put them first..........at least any decent bloke would.

Fair post mate ,but you dont have to justify you finances to any one ! i`ve been going to game since my neighbour took me to reserve games at maine rd in th early seventies, i pick and choose my game for all sort of reasons ,i did`nt go to the carling cup game cos i could`nt be arsed does the that make a bad fan ,tight **** or what ever ,

BUT ive got tickets to the villa AWAY,

there are to many people judging on here . LETS BE NICE 2 EACH OTHER THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT .THE FUTURE`S BLUE. C.T.I.D

Let me put my cards on the table. I'm a season ticket holder, have been for years. I'm up at about 4400 points so not exactly an elite fan. I've been away, both in Europe and in div 3, and I've been fortunate enough to have always had the dosh to go.

I was there on Wednesday, just as I have been to most of the daft cup games we have played at this part of the season in years gone by (shows 3007 medal).

From my perspective, I was disappointed that there were not more there on Wednesday. But, I always am. I'd love everyone to think like me and have the means like me. Sure, I've missed home games, I do every year for one reason or another and I give my season ticket to a blue who loves to go without asking for any finacial return.

Again, at the moment, I accept I am lucky. Just like billy big bollocks who earns 3 big ones a week in his big house, very Stretford.

That said, there absolutely has to be a contingent of 'Not arsed', not just one off's on holiday, which is the hot topic. There is clearly a fairweather element in our support that have the means, but are just not interested in Fulham in the Carling cup. We will get 40K plus for West Ham and I am sure some of those additional 15K fans could have made the effort for Wednesday.

I'm not really sure what this Kiam has said. But I think this all boils down to a three things: Mindset, means and motivation. If there is a game on, do you want to go? For me, yes, regardless of the opposition. Do I have the means? Yes, I agree, I'm lucky. Do I want to go? Yes, always. However, this is a simple train of thought for me and I accept people are made different. Kiam may be deemed 'extreme', but I see why he is frustrated.

For the record, as a club, the game on Wednesday was far, far, far bigger than the Derby. The Club needs a trophy, a monkey off the back. Again, as a Club, we need to change our focus. Playing Stretford should be a one off, winning something, anything, the 1000% aim.
