IMO I think we are trying to sign Barkley this window as we are able to make the numbers work, and if we have a spending cap on next summers window we will be unable to sign both Barkley and Yaya's long term replacement. With all the deadwood mainly having 1-2 years left on their contracts it would make sense to sell for a higher price now and invest in Barkley rather than lose the deadwood for pennies next window and not be able to sign both Barkley and Yaya's replacement.
