And so it begins...

Sorry Tolm' but you're wrong about Barkley because about 50 Evertonians have told me so on Twitter.

Barkley will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever play for any other club but Everton.

And they don't have to sell now either, so there.

Have they got a striker yet? In fact, they need two and that could be £40m+. They may have that money available from the sale of Fellaini and TV money, but if not, they may have to accept selling a prized asset to build a stronger squad.

There was also talk of Barkley signing a new contract, but he may want the big move instead, as there been no mention for a while. Not saying he'll move this summer or to us, but both him and the club will have to want him to stay and if he's as good as everyone thinks, he'll want CL football, which Everton is unlikely to ever be able to provide.

Thanks tolmie for all your contribution this transfer window, hope it continues because its still early days.

I have a feeling Pellegrini might go for Isco, he went for Willy from Malaga, a keeper he trusts even though we could have had quality keepers at similar price or even free!

Madrid will be tempted to sell Isco if they bring in Kroos AND James Rodriguez. He would not get any game time, he didn't get enough last year either.

I hope its Barkley and Some one like Isco or Di Maria

But that Zaha rumor is still out there.

Negredo still wants out - that's £20m

Garcia or Nastasic, £10m or £15m, respectively.

Rodwell is another £10m

Sinclair - £3m

Richards £6m

Guidetti - £5m

(and that's without even factoring in a sale of Milner (£10m)

It's actually closer to £60m, but it leaves the club with plenty of change to bring in two huge names.

Only a punt mind you but I would suggest two of the top three TH mentioned would be in the squad for the Newcastle game and beyond August 31 and the bottom four with the possible exception of Rodwell will be a t new clubs come the August deadline.

We currently have 27 players in the squad and that number will be reduced to 25 come the start of the season.

Mangala should he come in will mean we have to off load an overseas player however which could mean Nasty is on his way.

Nastasic does not have to be registered this year. so would be pointless to sell this year.

Barkley n cavani ?

clubs have to be interested and thats where it gets slowed down .

it's not the fees or the quality of the players that is off putting for potential buyers but the huge wages the players are on

I appreciate when Tolmie posts and know he does so in good faith but I wouldn't instigate and accept numerous monetary bets on twitter based on them...

Pretty sure TH would say the same tbf.

Great thread.

Right Tolm mentioned we'd have around 50-60mill to spend after sales. Is that seperate to the Money we have already spent?
I think he said we would have rather than we did have (accepting that Mangala is a done deal) and then named and priced some likely candidates, so as well as the already spent cap.

Love reading your stuff Tolmie, especially as it was becoming quite boring on here.

However if I was a manager with a bit of money to spend,£10 million on Rodwell ,no chance.I wouldn't even risk half of that on him !
