And so it begins...

For those asking about Rodwell, he was poised to leave on loan to Everton back in January.

It only fell down at last minute because of Fernando deal getting bogged down.

Everton already had two Premier League players on loan in Barry and Lukaku, under the permitted rules.

Everton's plan was to pay us our £2m fee early to make Barry a permanent deal.

Rodwell would come in on loan with a view to signing in the summer.

Everton are still very much at the table.
Good news, I'm of the minority it seems who feels Rodwell could still a job for us given a run of injury free game time. I'm not surprised Everton are interested especially if they can get Milner too. With the Europa League this season their squad is looking pretty skinny.

I think Everton would be an awesome club for Jack.He needs to find his game again and where better than at his former club with a similar quality around him.

We should let him leave cheapish....... with the condition that Barkley will be offered to us first,or better still,as a down payment.

I've asked this before....where will he get decent game time while playing here?

Still don't see the point in the selling now on Barkley. If they roll the dice and keep him and he has another great season the price will only go up unless we've fully cornered the market(bit more difficult with him being english)

Much more complicated than that, he has entered the final 18 months of his contract.

Everton first proposed an extension back in March but nothing since.

They have since signed up Baines. Even Martinez and McCarthy got new offers, despite being at the club less than a year.

Barkley and his agents now hold all the cards.

He can sit tight or secure a promise from Everton of a sale next year at an agreed buy out.

For the latter to happen, Everton would still have to pay him proper wages for the next 12 months.

Obviously it would depend on outgoings.

It's because we all agree that Boyata is the future of this football club. These kind of players don't grow on trees, players that you can build your team around and use to inspire a generation.

Joking aside I think Pelle likes him but I can't fathom why.
I think it's because he's not just home grown, but CLUB TRAINED and home grown. I can't see any other reason.

Embarrassing that nobody in the EDS could take his place as homegrown. I'm sure there are a few that are better than Boyata.

loan or permanet tolm?.
also if we sell all the players you mentioned is there any chance we may have 2 homegrown coming in i.e barkley and chamberlain, or walcott

Would defo be one.

I see no reason for Walcott or Ox to want to leave Arsenal.

Is that a clue or a statement?

Tolmie is it true that Boyata signed a new contract because of his constant smiley face that lights up the whole training ground??

Good at cleaning the toilets.

I love his 'my shit smells sweeter than yours' look.

He's smeared enough shit on the pitch during his time at City to know.

Even Bolton fans said he was terrible.
