And so it begins...

The cartel ffp trick is to try & slow us down for a season whilst they all blow loads of money, but in reality we needed the players we are getting & if we wanted to sign a huge player we would have to sell anyway, as there is no space in the squad.

Likelihood is that we would have done the same business, & if we go for a big attacking player it would be next season.

Our competitors have strengthened in some areas, so have we. That's football. Their signings may be a bit more eyecatching because we have ours already at the club.

We can't have everything all our own way every season. It's supposed to be a competition & if it just means a stroll for us every year, I have no interest in it. Bring it on.

If we don't win, we change a couple of players next season, then the season after, the academy starts to kick in, which I'm more excited about than signings tbh.

They're not stupid, they can see the rapid progress we are making and knew that this summer was their last chance of putting a spanner in the works before we become fully FFP compliant and as an unfortunate consequence, 'one of them'. As long as we don't balls it up this season, we are here to stay.

People go on about Cesc Fabregas and say we should of got him and so on and on. I think the players we have signed in Fernando who is needed more than Cesc is a great deal.
Willy is a good keeper to keep Joe on his toes.
Sagna I don't overly rate the player but he is good back up to Zabba.
So far so good for me. Whatever centre half we end up signing and I think its a good window. I trust all involved in the club to get the right players to make us stronger. Some deals will drag on others won't.
Now its time to move out the dead wood if possible. Looking at Nasty he would be the 1 I would be pissed off to see going. I think he could add a lot of competition for places in the back 4.

To add to that, if don't have another season of bad injuries to key players (not again Shirley!) we are still the team to beat.

Totally agree if we sign as predicted Mangala.

last year IMO Fernandhino was the signing of the season not just for us but in the PL and he was not a player who made people think WOW what a signing.

Germany just won the WC with a great team and that is what we have and just need minor tweeks.

Not from your examples we can't. Arsenal are only signing players now because they've got the debt of the stadium all the way down. Fabregas (3 years on from when he left) and Costa especially are not world class, good yes but no way world class.
What does the money Chelsea receive have to do with FFP?
By persisting with the fiction that FFP sanctions have had little impact on City you now resort to the absurd idea that expensive world class signings by our competitors are either not world class or not expensive.
Fabregas's stock is significantly lower than when he left Arsenal regardless of price, if he's still world class then why did Barcelona let him go when Xavi looks to be on his way out? What was the meaning of that peculiar (presumably accurate) statement Barca put out?
Costa is just an overpriced big thug, and certainly wouldn't qualify as world class in my eyes at least.
By your thinking I presume you think the £35 million Andy Carroll is/was world class?
or not expensive.
where did I say that?

I corrected your post for you, no need to thank me.
forging the comments of those with whom you disagree is another sign of desperation and what has Andy Carroll got to do with this window?

Imagine what we'd be saying if Zabaleta played for someone else and became available. Or Silva, or Kompany, or Aguero, or Nasri, or Jovetic, or Dzeko, or Toure, or even, after the world cup he's just had, Demichelis. We'd be urging our owners to go out and buy them. The beauty of it is, they are already ours and more besides. Unless someone left, all we needed was topping up and that is exactly what is happening. A centre half and it's job done for me.
