And so it begins...

Thats why I added the caveat of something remarkable happens. :-) I can see though that provided Barkley is content with prem football and domestic cups this year, it is possible to do the deal because we are free of the spending cap and could use the likes of Milner and or Rodwell in getting the player. Not overly exited just yet.

wouldn't barkley want champions league though rammy? personally I reckon isco has a better chance of signing due to him being pushed further down the pecking order with the imminent arrival of rodriguez to real. even a £5m loan fee or negredo swap (loan or sale) would be brilliant as I see us playing one up top more and more this coming season with yaya further advanced or jovetic or isco behind Sergio or edin up top.

Just my thoughts
If Barkley arrived and insisted on playing he would have to be on the A list which means the spending cap of 49m comes into play. So to fund that would mean player sales. I Know it has been flogged to death on here who we could sell and what money could be re couped but with the exception of players who I would rather stayed at City can see Borini type fees coming in for the Sinclairs and Garcias of this world.

The money side isn't a problem from what I understand maybe 5m or so in a loan deal. The real difficulty is how do we get him in Prem League squad?

think Garcia will be a goner to be honest and if there is a chance of isco I do think manuel would love to have him.

Good to hear confirmation that Milner wants to stay for another season, but we could do with him signing a new contract so we can sell him for a fee, isn't he in the last 12 months of his current deal this season ?

It appears we are interested in both Barkley and Isco, although most of us want to see either Pogba or Vidal brought in next season. Myself, I would like to see Pogba joining City, mainly because of his age so we'd get some years service from him. I'd also love to see Reus playing for us, he's a top player, as has been discussed on this forum, has plenty of years left in him, and I also like the playing mentality shown by both the Germans and Argentinians.

I can't see Barkley joining now we know both Milner and Toure are staying, however the Isco rumours are very interesting, and Madrid have let top players leave before for bargain prices. A loan would be great, although does this mean we have to cut the squad for the Premier League by two from the foreign contingent ?

If this is correct then who is to leave, maybe Negredo, although we have heard this week that he wants to stay.

Garcia needs to be sold to make way for Mangala, so another player has to go to make way for Isco. :-)
