And so it begins...

Can't see Barkley coming now Yaya is staying, he won't want to be on the bench.
If jimmy stays I agree, if jimmy goes we have an opening for a decent home grown attacking player.

People think too much about champs league squad but we will have 45 + non champs league games and need a full quota of 25 for those and I think we need to be able to rest players like silva , Yaya, kompany which has not really been an option in prem or Europe in the past
Reports of Jimmy leaving are due to his lack of playing time, why would someone like Barkley then want to fill that spot in the squad...

I wonder if there is any truth in the negredo to real Madrid and isco to us swap rumours?? to make certain deals happen some players will have to be unfortunately used to make us better and stronger. isco is a dream signing and will help us start buying world class players at the right age as the squad starts getting older. same with barkley, top top class players at an age where they could spend 10 years plus at gods own club.

never thought he would come this year. but the groundwork may have been laid (in terms of piquing his interest) for next year when Yaya is another year further on the wrong side of 30.

I agree...I don't think Barkley was ever a real option for this transfer window even less so now Yaya has confirmed he will see out his contract...but it does make sense to make our "interest" official with Everton in case something worked out for next season...

I am not doubting the information supplied but IMO once Mangala is signed unless something remarkable happens I believe that will be it.

I still think there will be one more but I don't think barkley will be possible this year. never seen tolm put so many exclamation marks on his posts recently so I reckon something big is being worked on behind the scenes.
