And so it begins...

Good for you lad. Its no surprise to anyone though really. We all pretty much knew.

Good for you. I'm just glad you don't control the bonuses at the club. I'm pretty sure most footballers understand the benefit of attacking and defending. Might have escaped you but if you score more than you concede you win the game. But you are right. Pay them £1,000 for every plus 1 GD they achieve just to act as an incentive/reminder.

We have brought in performance related bonuses which will be tailored to each player I imagine and based on last season it worked pretty damn well.

Yes pal I'm sure they do recognise the benefit of attacking and defending however people were concerned that for example a player was on a goal bonus, said player might be a little greedy. A clean sheet bonus might mean defenders are a little cautious. I don't know what the bonus schemes entail as much as you don't.

Just earlier in the thread people were concerned about issues if it did contain things like those mentioned. I'm of the opinion that it would be based on league positions and cup progress but might be wrong. When you tailor bonuses to each player then issues could come in around that. You often see such a team is on x amount bonus per player to win such a cup or game. I don't recall seeing one player being on a bonus to win a cup and another player a different amount. If that is the case it might seem to cause disharmony.

It may well be the case that different players are on different bonuses what do I know.

My bonus structure would not be a goal bonus or clean sheet bonus but at the end of the season the players get say £1k per postive goal in the goal difference column. Would mean everyone in the team would see the benefit in both attacking and defending

£1k?! That's a shit bonus! People in sales get better than that! You want to reward players with £50,000 approx! Need to offer a bit more than that!

Per goal. And was only an example. Could be £10k/£20k/£50k whatever. The goal difference was 65 last year so each player would get 65 times the bonus amount. Each goal counts both scored and conceded. No player has to be greedy, players will want to defend as well as attack, all players get the same so no fall outs on that - they just negotiate there own "basic"

This could cause problems....

"Oi, Edin, you missed a three sitters earlier today, you owe me £30k, you plonker."
