To be honest I dont think we have much to shout about, but if I was pressured,I would have to go with,The Smiths first then Joy Division.

SUCH AN EXPERIMENTAL ROCK GROUP THAT LITERALLY DEFINED ALL THE MUSIC THAT'S EVER BEEN. THEY'RE BETTER THAN ALL THOSE OTHER BANDS AND PERFORMERS THAT JUST EXISTED AND RECORDED SHITE.
COCKY, NORTHERN AND CITY FANS. WHAT'S BETTER?
I don't rate oasis but you're a bit of a tool sometimes. You seem to think your opinion is fact because you write reviews that nobody reads. You aren't a music expert, you're a fan like any of us.
MCFC BOB said:Just to clarify, I think Oasis are the most distinctly average and therefore most over-hyped band in the history of music.

The Roses were iconic at the time, but two records isn't enough to be considered the greatest when you look at the creative output of the likes of the smiths, new order, james, et al.
This is a silly argument Billy. Greatness is defined by quality more than quantity.
The Smiths had moments of quality, New Order had moments of quality. James had no moments of quality and a large quantity of averageness.
The Roses are Gareth Bale making the rest look like Rio Ferdinand.
